I had to really think about this one, because io is... kind of a risk-taker. they think that they don’t have a lot to lose, and can be a bit of an adrenaline-junkie. less so now, but before inter mundos? they definitely chased that adrenaline high.
what I can think of is that iovita has had a lot of chances to get involved with things. big things --- wars, choices, the building and decline of countries and towns and all that business, because even the greats can be tempted by the power of real magic, once proven to them to be something more than just card tricks and sleight-of-hand. io’s chosen not to be involved in these things, however, simply because it doesn’t interest them, and at the time they would much rather live by themself, depend on themself, and have no influence over anything but game trails.
the io that could have gotten involved into all the political shebang wouldn’t have been helpful, no. iovita is a born meddler, a mischief maker, someone who likes to wield power with the sole purpose of seeing what will happen. io has ambition, they just don’t use it that much because they rarely end up in the situations where they can use it ( unless one counts the endeavors of magic, in which they are always ambitious ). but give them the opportunity for power and influence? they would have been an internal menace in a political game like that. they definitely wouldn’t have had inter mundos, and they definitely would have had influence over major events. but, like some meddling trickster-god, they wouldn’t have really cared.
