You didn’t know if this girl was still in high school or if she was in college, but she was absolutely beautiful. You loved how the early sun reflected off her bright hair and how her kind eyes crinkled when she smiled and waved at you.

You politely waved back, not taking much notice of what was in her hands. You turned back to your computer to watch what she was doing through the cameras (in a completely non-creepy way) just to see what she was doing. You couldn’t help your curiosity.

You watched as she placed it on the shelf, between a few books with authors whose last name started with a ‘p’. Did her last name start with a ‘p’? You wanted to find out, but would that seem creepy? There was no way you could walk up to the girl and ask her who she was, right?

Today she wore thigh high socks, a red skirt, and a black top. It was relatively simple but you couldn’t help but notice how good it looked on her. You didn’t think you would ever get over her impeccable fashion sense.

You watched as she left the frame of the camera, walking up to the desk you were behind. You looked up at her, almost blushing at the sight of her. She was unnaturally pretty, her eyes wide and brown. You’d never really seen the beauty in brown eyes until now. They weren’t even just brown - no, they were a pretty caramel color.

You’d never been so taken aback by someone’s beauty. You almost found yourself staring, had it not been for her voice that shocked you out of your trance.

“I’m sorry to bother you, but do you have Great Expectations? By Charles Dickens?” Uh oh, even her voice was pretty. It was almost like she had a permanent smile on her face as she regarded you.

“Oh, uh…” You blinked a couple of times before turning to your computer to look up the book. You mentally cursed yourself for stuttering when she spoke so smoothly. When the information popped up on your screen you refrained from looking at her to stop yourself from stuttering. “Looks like our only copy is checked out right now. I’m sorry.” It hurt your heart to see her pout.

“Oh, that sucks.” She stood for a second. “Do you think you could let me know when the book comes back?”

“Yeah, of course! We could e-mail you?” You raised your eyebrow at her.

“Oh,” She scrunched up her nose. “I never check my e-mail. Is there another way?” When you timidly shook your head, she nodded. “Okay, I’ll just check back in every couple days.” She smiled.

“T-that’s okay.” You gave her a shy smile back. “I’ll be here. Every day except -”

“Mondays.” Her smile widened before she turned around, her skirt twirling as she walked back towards the door. “I’ll see you tomorrow.” Your jaw dropped as she left the library. It was too early for you to say anything else, you could barely create any words to speak to her at the counter.

Once you were sure she wasn’t coming back, you headed to the ‘p’ shelf. You found what she left behind. It was easy to tell this book was self-bound. It was hardcover, the cover of it drawn on with beautiful colors. There was no title, no author name, and no publishing date within it. When you opened it and skimmed through the pages, you saw it was printed out and actually looked professional.

“This girl’s something else…” You whispered to yourself, walking back to the desk and sitting in your chair before you delved into the book.

You were surprised at her intricate detail to everything. You read through it fast, barely getting interrupted by patrons this early in the morning. You read of princesses, princes, hurt, and pain, all in one book that turned an old fairytale realistic. You got lost in the beautiful literature, wondering how this girl had yet to be published, or what she was doing just leaving this in the library.

At this point, you craved to know her name. Who was she? This girl was not only beautiful and had a great fashion sense, but she was intelligent too. You couldn't get enough of her. What was happening? You didn’t even know this girl’s name and something about her was driving you crazy.

You brought her book with you even on your lunch break, sitting down in the small café with your sandwich as you carefully read through the book, making sure not to drop anything on the beautiful work of art.

Of course, the beautiful girl was talented as well. Her voice was soft and you wondered if she sang as well, she had the vibes. Maybe she could sing and she just didn’t know it. You just couldn’t stop thinking about the possibilities of this girl. She could literally be anyone, but that didn’t stop you from wanting to know more about her.

You were on the final page of the book, so engrossed with the plot that you almost forgot that you had to go back to work. You didn’t want to, you wanted to sit and finish this book just because of how well it was written. Not only was the plot amazing, but the grammar was spot on as well. Great grammar meant a great book.

As you flipped past the last page, the ending took you off guard and you audibly gasped before a smile spread across your face. You wondered if this girl was as full of secrets as her book was. The next page was blank except for a name spelled out in black ink.
