If I write Elendil/Míriel fic again, which I would like to, bc I love their dynamic, trust that I will be putting Eärien in significant role and developing a relationship between her and Míriel, not only because I find that an extremely promising dynamic and we deserve to see more women interacting, but also because I refuse to write anything for the shippers who are being absolutely nasty toward Eärien.
PLEASE TELL ME YOU'VE SEEN THE EP8 PREVIEW BC MY GODDDD I'M LOSING MY MIND
I HAVE I CANT BELIEVE THEY JUST GAVE US THAT??? ALSO HOW ARE WE SUPPOSED TO WAIT A FULL WEEK TO SEE THEM AGAIN I CANT DO THIS BESTIE
Tar-Míriel, Queen of Númenor, Jewel-daughter
You are so right about earien. One thing the show is really good at why the numenoreans chooses the sides they do. And earien especially. I think it was a fantastic idea of the showrunners to have there be discord in elendils family and its done in a really good way. Earien is probably one of my favourite characters because of it.
I agree! I loved that in s1 we saw both Míriel and Elendil turn back towards their faith and why, that Isildur's heart and desire to make something of himself after the loss of his mother and Valandil's loyalty and ambition were part of what aligned them with the cause of the faithful as well. And I loved that the seeds of Eärien's skepticism were present from the first family dinner scene in ep 3, and that her position as Isildur's confidante (and vice versa) was clear. Eärien has been one of my favorite characters since her introduction too, and while I wish we had more scenes with her, I do think the writing and Ema's performance have been very consistent in showing her motivations.

i forgot to put MY reasons in the tags of that poll but i picked ep 4 by a narrow margin. i love 3 for the intro to númenor, and 7 is a top contender too for so many character reasons, but 4 has white leaves and everything associated with that piece, both in s1 of the show and in general, makes me feral, and for that ep 4 has my heart.
i'm sorry, i'm still hung up on this, it's just that...adaptation is an art form! professional writers adapt other works very frequently, you don't graduate from creating adaptations to creating original stories! whether or not something is an adaptation has nothing to do with the quality of the work! not to mention...the pj lotr trilogy is ALSO an adaptation! there is a wide range of opinions on whether or not rings of power is a good adaptation, but analyzing it as a failed adaption requires a more complex engagement than i am seeing on the whole.
everyone who makes snide posts about rings of power being bAd fAnFiC owes me $5. congrats on not understanding what fanfic is, you're incorrect and unoriginal but hey, at least you're also deeply annoying.
