Another Roofing Tutorial!

So one thing that really bummed me out about the new roofing update was that ocatgonal roofs are required to be square. When you have a porch like this one where it is 3x2 the roof doesn’t line up which you can see in the first pic.

So my solution is to place two more diagonal roofs on either side as seen in the second and third pics. Finally there is a bit of glitching where the roofs overlap and the textures do not match. To remedy this I very carefully lifted the first octagon roof I placed and it eliminated the graphics glitch.

I knew when we were getting round roofs that this was the first thing I was on gonna try and sure enough, it works!

So here is a small tut… I put a pic up of how I set it up to work with the walls. Then take the half gable and take the side overhangs off (which is now possible thanks to the new update as well)! Finally place a 4x4 circular roof on the corner and VOILA!

Finally had some time to play around tonight. Last few nights had just playing around with the new roofs and figuring out all the new possibilities. So I finally came up with a house that I like. And big props to my boy @peacemaker-ic for his awesome trick of putting friezes on short walls like I did at the top of this house’s turret.
