LMAO no no I get it! I don't play Genshin myself but I play another gacha, and I'm f2p but there have been times where I've stared at a surprise banner and thought, "Chan... if you're out there... 🧍"

We're not even 24 hours from seeing Hyunjin and we're well into our messy era 🚩🚩🙈 (that's me and MC not looking at all the red flags)

I just know Chan took one whiff of Hyunjin when he came home and was overthinking the implications all night long. I was surprised she actually unblocked some of them already! I wonder if they boys are going to be trying every possible way to make sure her new apartment is well scented, now that she doesn't have an alpha scent there to deter others? (Is that an issue in this world?)

Chan held it together longer than I thought he would. Now the boys have another alpha on their hit list 😅

I like this darker version of soulmates... like its not an immediate fix-all to their relationship. There's still a major incompatibility, but since they're soulmates, she's feeling the pressure to try and make it work. Can't wait to see how her and the boy's thoughts and feelings evolve as they work towards a happy ever after.

Sooooo much of this story is about choice, and MC really grapples with the kind of innate loss of it that comes from being soulmates! It's been a lot of fun to write 😊 I've mentioned this before but I'm not usually a soulmate AU person, and sometimes I feel like I've accidentally written an anti-soulmate soulmate fic lol (this is a joke). I'm glad you're liking it, too!

I think helping her unpack and clean up was kind of Chan's plan, actually! God knows that man knows how to organize. Alternate timeline where they don't have sex and MC actually gets her bed frame built and her pantry unpacked

The conversations about music start pretty early, and MC has pretty diverse taste but especially gravitates towards louder stuff, so I think they would have some idea that she would probably like it, soulmate nonsense aside -- but still! Things to worry about. There's a part really early (I want to say chapterrrr... 8?) where Chan asks MC a few music-related questions: do you like music, and do you look down on idols, that kind of thing

i just finished the chapter and AUGH! SO GOOD! Not gonna talk about all my thoughts here because i already rambled in the comments on ao3, but I just had one question.

i remember that you had said previously (i think it was in the chapter with binnie in the car) (went back and checked, it was 49 and also wow that was hot), that in ronverse, when someone comes in/on someone else, that person will smell like their partner for 1 day if on, and 3 days if in.

that wasnt worded well, but basically what i’m asking is if mc is now going to smell like chan for a few days, because I wonder how she’d feel about that 🤭 i mean, it seems like she likes the idea of people smelling her on him! but i could see the other way around being difficult or scary for her

I think you kind of covered it, actually-- She likes it, AND it's scary 😆 For better or worse, too, our MC does not have the best sense of smell, so she'll probably shower and sleep and when she wakes up in the morning she'll be like "alright I'm fine, the smell is gone, crisis averted". Meanwhile everyone in her life is like ?? so her boyfriend is back...????

Can I start of with...im sorry. For my comments on last chapter. I didn't mean anything bad but I know intent and effect don't always collide. So. I'm sorry for hurting you or making you think I disliked the last chapter cause of RON!Chan's possesiveness

Honestly, the opposite is true. And you made a great point about scents. I also need to remember our MC doesn't abide by the rest of the RONverse their laws. You're right (of course you are you're the WRITER, this is your universe) Chan would stop if he smelled MC being uncomfortable or god forbid scared of him.

I didn't mean anything bad with my comments, they are always heavily laced with drama but I'm genuinely sorry for the effect it brought. I'll try and word my thoughts better in the future.

Alright so. That done. This chapter was amazing. Chan had MC melt like putty in his hands. It was sweet and steamy and romantic too. The lil moments of MC going 'wait you'd do that for me?" And chan going 'i'd go to the ends of the earth for you baby' GAH classic romcom right there!

I also gotta quote two bits

'It isn’t about intentions, good or bad; it’s just about the pull, the soulmate magic, the obsession you’ve all accidentally fostered between yourselves that tells you to agree to anything they put forward if it means fixing this. '

I'm guessing this was what you were referring to when I mentioned they'll always come back together the question isn't IF but HOW? Right...?

I'm once again glad MC is being very honest with herself while still staying true to herself, if that makes sense. She is realising some of her thoughts are more her trauma talking than her heart...and speaking from experience that takes GENUINE EFFORT AND INTROSPECTION. so 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 for MC

The other bit, I really liked was

'So it all cycles back to the same thing as before: at the end of the day, separate from them, separate from everything, what do you want? How badly do you want it? What losses can you accept in exchange? And can you trust someone to give it to you?'

Cause this is just THE QUESTION for our RON MC...distilled in a couple sentences..but there it is! Again massive kudos to MC for wording it so clearly and succintly. Powerwoman, even if she doesn't feel like she is..she's a survivor and quotes like these show it to me 1000%

One more bit that stood out...chan's sad ramblings explaining how he's lacking.. wolfie needs a big hug and a cuddle puddle with his pack..if it cant be MC in it yet..then his boys at least. The amount of stress and pressure that man is putting HIMSELF under...he'll become a diamond in no time flat! Cuddle puddle and everyone telling him how he's an amazing pack leader and that he's allowed to be vulnerable and fragile too!

So there it is...my own thoughts bared. Sorry again. Like all the RON boys said to MC 'i'll try to do better and be better'.

And aw, I’m glad you liked those bits! I agree with you that when MC isn’t drowning in denial she is surprisingly self-aware 😊 Overly negative, sometimes, and oblivious about other people, yes. But self-aware!!!

I thought a lot when writing this chapter about how Chan has talked about coming to rely on and be more open with the other members more and more over the years, and how good that’s been for him, and then how BAD it could be to sort of regress to his prior expectations with a new person. His relationship with MC is messy!!! But I think he is probably pretty vulnerable with the members, so don’t worry about them too much

Your writing is truly so so good like the way you wrote their desperatation for her to stay like I felt that it felt like it was me who was desperate from the way you wrote it. I'm really glad I waited to read it though because if I had known there was no chapter to read after I might have cried. I had to stop reading for a second because the thought of her leaving was panicking me the same way it was panicking them😭😭. I don't know what else to say I'm still stuck on how absolutely soulcrushing this was and how well you portrayed that like wow your writing is truly a masterpiece it's so so so good.
