This must be a great endeavour. I actually would like to tackle the reason Ron Kamonohashi had Sherlock Holmes blood, but bears the name Kamonohashi.
The possibility is so great as Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock, after the Reichenbach incident, travelled to Asia and became a monk, one of his disguises. And him stopping in Japan after Nepal, China and India, which is in Sherlockian universe called The Great Hiatus, a three-year period wherein Dr. John Watson thought he was dead.
Little did the army doctor know that in order for Sherlock to “have a sense of normalcy,” after befriending a samurai family SH fell in love with one of the daughters and had an affair with her. (A samurai clan earned an aristocratic status during this era.) But because he was a foreigner and the girl had to be married off with a man of the same ethnicity, the girl’s family, Ron’s ancestors on the Japanese side, paid a hefty sum to the man’s family to accept Sherlock’s love child. So everything was kept hush-hush. This was the Meiji Period. John W found out the truth all right. He had to pretend that everything was a-okay bc SH was providing support for the family and from time to time traveled to Japan incognito. This is also the reason JW married again and for a while, he left SH alone. This is during “The Case-book of Sherlock Holmes” where SH lamented that he was alone and writing his own cases and the doctor never appeared. The two had disagreements until they kissed and made up and JW, a widower, stayed with SH until their deaths. This was chronicled during “The Last Bow” where SH worked as a spy.
Like what I said in my earlier head canon, Romi Holmes met Eliot Moriarty during her consulting detective era. She used Holmes bc she was proud of it. It was her pseudonym, using the surname of her great-great grandfather. When JW died SH officially acknowledged the children of his love child, who was a son. The reason Ron’s grandmother owned the apartment building. She was the direct descendant and beneficiary of the Holmes estate in Japan. She married someone who was named Kamonohashi. But after Ron had a traumatic experience (seeing his father’s death) owing to his childhood amnesia Romi decided to give him the name Kamonohashi, which is her own father’s surname. Now, I think Tiger Dan was bluffing. The M Family never supported Ron. It was Eliot’s own money, an inheritance, that he was given when he was still a child. It would not surprise me if he had his own secret bank account in Switzerland as well.
