...common practice to pair up constructs and commandants into task force teams to try liberating the surface area from the virus.

The Ascendants are a special group of constructs who have embraced the virus instead because of personal motives or various injustices (A lot of them caused by humans directly) and who oppose mankind's efforts to reclaim Earth (This is all from the game ✦Punishing Gray Raven✦, if you are interested I definitely recommend checking out the game and its lore! It's really good!)

In the context of all this, my story goes that Roland meets Wes when initially thinking the latter was a threat on Earth (Ascendants are sort of in charge here). But when he meets him, he finds out that he's really not all that. Since this human is less dangerous than most (Definitely more harmless than the Gray Raven commandant), Roland approaches and befirends him. Roland never experienced working alongside a human (He became an Ascendant before ever connecting his M.I.N.D. with a commandant), and wanted to see how that feels. The ship develops from this point, until they are both 'their own version of construct and commandant' even though they are both 'unfit' for those roles (Roland being a literal enemy of mankind, and Wes having a damaged chip for connecting with constructs. They can't do it normally, instead they have to do it the classical way of working together).

Since Roland is a knight of Luna, he proposes at some point that Wes becomes his "squire" and it becomes a little roleplay that they do (In a way this makes them a lot more like a 'construct and commandant' but the roles are somewhat reversed with Roro ordering his human around). Then thanks to a peculiar balance between a group of humans and the Ascendants (Luna and the Gray Raven start working together for an indefinite period of time), their relationship becomes feasible. Wesley's peculiar habits help Roland overcome some of his problems, which the latter repays with protection and care. With time they became lovers, but also remain friends as well (They are definitely equally silly I'll tell you that!)

This lovely drawing I posted was actually made by my girlfriend 😊 She did a banger job, and she did both characters justice ❤️ ❤️ My huge thanks goes to her because her support has been very motivating for all my art and writing (ˆ ³ ˆ)♥ We were coming up with scenes together and she was helping me proofread, and is definitely thanks to her that this story didn't take EVEN longer XDDD But now I am really happy where it's at. Also Roro is her fave (And mine haha) so I guess it was even easier 😄 I specifically went through his event quests and dialogues to make him more believable. He's a complex character and he definitely deserved all the legwork, and seeing all his stuff again reminded me how much I liked him to begin with. Anyway sorry for yapping… it will definitely happen again 👌

Here’s a lovely drawing that my partner drew for an OcxCanon ship I currently really enjoy! 🌺🌺 These are Roland (ocified) and Wesley (my oc), they’re from the game Punishing Gray Raven! My partner has been an amazing support while working on this and it makes me care for them even more.

I am going to break my indecisive art streak by focusing on these two. I love the characters involved (And it’s extra fun because I'm not brainstorming ideas alone). And now that I finished writing I can get back to art. Please look forward to my drawings next week!

First I couldn’t make up my mind on the pose. Then I couldn’t get the pose right (sigh) 😞 Then I realized “oh crap, their limbs aren’t in perspective”.

Then I realized my choice of pose wasn’t exactly the best for the story of this drawing, so instead they’re just sort of cuddling there… Then I couldn’t get Roland’s face right. When I fixed his face, I realized Wesley’s head was too small!! Then I got sick.

Then I lost motivation bcs I wasn’t sure if I’m gonna like it when it’s finished. Then some weird thing happened with my layers where everything became REALLY ORANGE. But here we are now and they can cuddle in peace. I made sure to give Wes some nice boob pillows to sulk on while he rests (∪ ◡ ∪) ☕

Also fun fact! these wanted posters are oc’s from a big comic project my girlfriend and I are working on!!
