rolerei, I am really flattered that you asked about my oc! I will try not to bore you, so here is as basic as I can get without spoilers (which I know doesn’t matter because my novel won’t be out for 100 years lol):

Foremost, he’s the love interest.

He’s from Spain but moved to the American hometown of his best friend/former university roommate to continue being near him because he’s low key in love with the man.

He lets people call him “Memo” as a nickname even though that’s not a Thing in Spain but rather a Latin American thing. The people he’s around either aren’t the brightest when it comes to cultural differences, think it’s funny, or just don’t care.

He absolutely hates his face being touched by anyone, has OCD-- obsessions/mental images/worries related to that, and fixates on flaws (both his own and in others) to the point that he avoids social situations or growing close to new people.

He’s kindhearted, but it often doesn’t translate well in his actions. When misunderstandings arise, he withdraws himself mentally to deal with it, which usually takes more time than he actually has. So he’s often seen as cold/uncaring/strange by others.

There’s something magical about him, and although the MC doesn’t much like Guillermo at first, she wants to get to the bottom of it.

I don’t know if any of that is interesting, but he’s still a work in progress haha

8. Favorite fanfic trope?

Oh gosh. I adore friends to lovers. Or the whole, I don’t show any affection except to this one person exclusively. And the whole slow burn fluff with angst. MMMMM they are my bread and butter!

16. Favorite love story?

That is an interesting one, I would have to say Tangled and Beauty and the Beast. I just love the development in their relationships and how they are both willing to change for the better for their person. It’s the whole “you make me want to be a better person” thing and they kinda coincide with question 8 now that i think about it lol

42. Do you prefer gazing wistfully out the window or lying dramatically over the couch?

Why not both? Lol uhhh, I’m gonna have to go with the window. I have always loved the sky and I once pulled over when I was driving because a storm just passed and the way the sun shined through the darkened clouds created a sky so beautiful I have to just stare for a few minutes. It even created a rainbow! I was so happy.

It depends on what kind of story you’re writing. 

If you’re writing a story focused on shipping, then you could have smut that leads to Emotions or you could have Emotions that lead to smut as the story progression. You could have the trust that’s built between the characters before/during/after the smut be the way of moving their relationship forward. You could use the smut as a lead in (or lead out) of conversations that the characters need to have with each other about the state of their relationship. 

In stories that aren’t focused on shipping, the smut could be a way that Character A gets Character B to do a thing (bribe, reward, underhanded dealings, there are a lot of options here). It could be a moment of levity/seriousness/other that breaks the tone of the fic and resets the story in a new way.
