It was so dark within the cave, a human-shaped pile of stones laying back and embedded partly into the damp soil beneath, sunken in due to the weight of the being. Rem lay there, not even using their power to hold themselves firmly together and instead laying segmented to reserve energy. Their runes and the strange blue substance beneath their stone layer glowed ever so dimly, softly pulsing now and then as the only hint of life.

He was waiting at the grid, his arms crossed and Giove on his shoulder. He saw several groups of teenagers pass by him - a pair of lass in particular commented out loud how ugly they found his Pikachu, much to his indifference. Eventually, the one he was waiting for finally came into view.

There he was, the wonderful Professor Damian, fresh out of class. Quentin stepped into his old partner’s vision before finally greeting him.

“Yo.”

Oh, he knew that face. Damian had it every single times he showed up unannounced. This was the kind of pout you couldn’t help but sneer at. He put a hand on his hip and let Giove jump off to nuzzle Damian’s legs.

“Yeah, I know, I should have sent a text or something. But what do you want, work has been kind of hectic. I don’t get warned before I’m put on vacation.”

Another group of giggling kids passed them. The nurse felt it a good enough occasion to say out loud what had been going through his mind since he landed in Wyndon.

oh. huh. makes sense. she hasn’t seen many people around here herself whenever she passes through. her eyes flick to the water. she would step closer, kneeling down and staring into it. if it were warmer, she might of even dived in.
