Hi everyone! Â Sorry about the radio silence over the past few months, but we've been working this entire time and we are now pleased to announce that the demo path has been sent off to beta! Â
While we're waiting to make sure we haven't made any huge and horrific mistakes, have a screenshot that tells you virtually nothing about the path. Â :D Â
We're having some trouble deciding what Dave should wear in Rogue of Heart, and we'd love your input! Â Whichever design gets the most votes by 6pm EST December 26 will be the design on Dave's t-shirt in the game. Â (In the case of a tie, we'll just flip a coin!)
Have you ever considered using ONScripter?
I had a quick look at onscripter on wiki, and the thing is, it doesn't seem to be that powerful. the thing about ren'py is it's written in python, Â and at any time you can stop using ren'py specific syntax and doing ren'py specific things, and start coding directly in python to create functions and classes etc, and write things for the vn from scratch.
like, rogue of heart is a visual novel first and foremost, sure, but it is also a collection of minigames and other interact-able things that a visual novel engine would never have in their own little engine code, and it doesn't really look like onscripter would support these sorts of additions
but that's not to say that onscripter doesn't look perfectly fine as a vn engine? like, I'd love it give it a look! I just don't think it would bring what we need right now to the table, and I've already done a large chunk of the programming for rogue of heart in python. thanks for the heads up, though :)
