Rodimus is mean and a little petty whoch stands out. And if it is Post Bad End Optimus going "I can fix him" and being adopted into this soft, small collection of Autobots would make him go nuts protective over them. Plus, he takes one look at the Decepticons and is reminded of the Scavengers and melts.

Everyone here is soft even their enemies and this Megatron is hilarious.

Rodimus is the oldest thing on this planet and he is not putting up with this nonsense. He is being validated and not delaing with a war. And as any straightforward Rodimus plan he kisses Optimus runs off and challenges Megatron for leadership of the Decepticons, legally, and wins because Megatron here may have been built to lead the Decepticons Rodimus lived through a war a thousand times more vicious in some ways.

It's great he'll just pass it off once things have settled except Rodimus gets attached, of course he does, and now these are his idioits and he just wanted to be able to date Optimus in peace. Now, they have to keep having "private meetings" in Rodimus's office while their command team waits awkwardly in an office for long stretches of times during peace discussions.
