🏒 Maurice “Rocket” Richard’s Eight-Point Night (1944)
On December 28, 1944, Maurice Richard exploded for five goals and three assists in a 9–1 win over Detroit, the first eight-point game in NHL history. The Montreal Forum roared as the Rocket dominated every shift, helping linemates Elmer Lach and Toe Blake pile up points too. The record was tied once, by Bert Olmstead in 1954, but never beaten. Eight decades later, the Rocket’s performance remains a symbol of Habs greatness and pure hockey history.
