Swallowing hard, he steeled himself against the fear, knees almost buckling under him as he heard the strangers voice. But the order was clear, making him bow again before hurrying off. “Certainly Sir, I shall be right back.” And back he was within the next five minutes, carrying a cup of coffee. “Sir? Don Giovanni is here now.”
Lifting up from the seat to greet the don he put out his cigarette and entered the office. Hours pass about the business had been done. Letting himself out as the don returned back to his own work.
Giving a good stretch outside the office he whipped out another cigarette and began to light it. Looking up from the flame to spot the run from before, he was busy sweeping the floor and getting ready to mop. At least the don had the decency to keep his place clean. Can’t say much for his reputation, however.
He walked up to the young, little man. Eying him quietly like a vulture. Giovanni seemed to be rather uncaring of the grunt when he brought him up in the meeting. dealing him off for free... Was he hoping to get something free in exchange? Hah.. but if the man was offering something for free with ulterior motives, he may as well take it and not return it. He was not one to do free trades or giveaways. It was unprofessional for his line of work.
“...Kid.” speaking up as he exhaled smoke, “Looks like you’re comin’ with me.”
