So I've been thinking about this, and I'm going to say it as many times as I want about it, but I don't actually hate Rocket Racing, even in the form it is now.
I know we s#!t on the metaverse, and how it's a failed experiment, and to be honest, Fortnite's been the only one who's been successful at it, and look at the problems that they're having.
But Rocket Racing, I've come to love.
Part of it may be sunk cost fallacy, part of it might be me taking a long while to get to love the gameplay, but when I loved it, I really did. No joke.
Not only is it the best way to finish the ranked missions (yes i drop it after, but the appeal lingers), but I'm also genuinely interested in the gameplay.
Getting even somewhat decent, and also driving a cool car along the way, makes it feel like a racing game, where titles like Mario Kart or Sonic Forces Speed Battle don't actually reward speed. Not that those games aren't fun in their own way, but it's not how i like Rocket Racing.
I'm not upset about Fortnite dropping support for Rocket Racing, because I actually understand that, mode has like 3 people in it, and I'm one of them, but calling it a failure is like kicking someone when they're down, and I don't think Rocket Racing deserves that.
All three of the initially introduced "permanent" game modes deserve respect, and I think Rocket Racing's gameplay is fun enough that it earns it.
