What is this?
I’m on the coast of Maine and there’s a looot of what looks and feels like limestone. I found this next to an ocean inlet where there tons of chunks of limestone broken in various sizes. Everything else seems solid, but not this one. When light is pressed up against that chipped area you can see that the rock inside the white area is semi-opaque and an amber-brown color.

Found on a beach in mid-coast Maine. Small chunks but also found a huge stone embedded into the beach with the same make up. The larger stone had a lot more red in it. The beach is sort of near a river estuary but unlikely the river has any real impact on the beach/area as it’s a pretty wide bay and it’s a few inlets apart from the actual estuary.
The smaller, smooth one was tumbled for a bit. The soft gray parts can take some light but aren’t fully transparent.
Hey I found some black rocks with golden dust and crystal like formations in it. It’s also really crumbly. Can someone tell me what it is.
