The rain was louder than it was when she was inside, she opened her umbrella and began to walk around.

Despite her hatred of water, the scene was awfully pretty. She looked around at the people, some of whom were glaring at her. However, she could care less at the moment, a couple of people weren’t going to ruin this beautiful day.

Echo continued on her way, meeting up with someone who had a familiar set of curly brown hair.

It was Vanny, sitting at a cafe.

Echo stood there for a few seconds, internally debating whether or not to approach her, eventually opting to do it. Her footsteps mixed with the echoing rain, creating a calming sound pattern.

Vanny didn’t seem to notice her at first, but eventually, she looked up at her.

“What do you want?” Vanny sneered at first before looking down bashfully, clearly regretting her decision. Echo just kept her gaze on the ground, reluctantly speaking.

“How...how have you been?” Vanny looked up at Echo, putting a hand on her shoulder, pressing her lips in a thin line as she tried to think of something to say.  Echo smiled though her mask, placing a hand over Vanny’s hand, appreciating the comfort.

“It’s been...fine, I guess.” Vanny responded after a few moments of comfortable silence, removing her hand as the waitress came over to the table. Vanny ordered an iced coffee, Echo joked about the choice but Vanny brushed it off. 

The two made small talk as they waited for Vanny’s drink, a few glares were shot at Echo, which she ignored. However, Vanny had a different plan. Without hesitation, she stood up and walked over to where the group was sitting.

“Do you assholes have a problem?” Vanny’s voice was sharp, yet calm, one of the group members stood up, preparing to say before the waitress came over with their drinks.
