Episode 169: Last days with new friends

While Kendall continues to deepen his new acquaintance, Robin and Alexander got a late start to the day. Although they were already up just before Kendall left, they had decided to lie down again. By early afternoon, however, the lazing about came to an end; Alex took an invigorating shower, and Robin raided the fridge a bit. Afterward, they wanted to go out and do something, since they had only a day and a half left there.

Even though the weather was a bit lackluster today, they decided to visit the beach—specifically, the larger of the two. It was a popular spot for evening beach parties, too. For anyone who found swimming in the sea too risky, the pool offered a perfectly good alternative.

Salomon and Elijah apparently had the same idea about going to the beach. And despite his solitary nature, Mo came along too. He’ll be flying back to Canada in a few days, but he has already lined up appointments with new musicians who want to record with him. So, there will be plenty of work for him in the near future as well.

Alexander is also enjoying being by the open sea again. The water is crystal clear, and you can walk out several meters without going under. Over the past few days, the guys and Elijah have had plenty of time to get to know each other better. They have all decided to definitely stay in touch.

Robin has brought a novel along. He doesn't usually read all that much, but sometimes he finds something that captures his attention—a story about ghosts who don't know where they belong or where they came from.

Elijah, who isn't really much of a sun-worshipper, lets the sun warm his back a little anyway. Besides, sunlight is good for the mood. He is doing much better now than a week ago, when he was depressed and toying with the idea of ​​perhaps ending his life. But neither can do without the other, and he loves Salomon more than his own life.

8:52 PM. The swimming fun is over, and everyone is enjoying the last few rays of sunshine. "So, what do you want to do tomorrow—your last day here?"/ "Hmm, maybe we’ll go to the movies or back to the meeting spot."/ "If you like, you can come by and see us again, too." / "Can I pet the snake again then?" / "Hahaha, whose snake?" Everyone laughed, understanding exactly what was meant by the question. "We’d love to come by again!"

Back at the accommodation, Kendall was already waiting for the guys. Alexander immediately noticed his satisfied expression. "Oh, hey, how was your date?" / "Hmm, a gentleman enjoys the moment and stays discreet." / "Hehe, so it went well—I’m glad to hear that. We went to the beach, ran into Elijah again, and we’re invited to his place tomorrow." / "You guys have really enjoyed an incredible privilege so far." Alexander put his arm around Robin’s shoulder. Robin looked back at him contentedly. "That’s true, but he’s still really cool and down-to-earth. We’re going to get some sleep now." / "Good night."

Kendall disappeared into his room. "Well, just tomorrow left, and then that’s it." / "Yeah, I’m really amazed at everything that’s happened in this one week." / "Yeah, it was a lot… I’m looking forward to being home. And then we have to really kick things into high gear at school." / "Oh yeah…" They exchanged a few more affectionate moments until tiredness won out. The journey home is drawing near…

Midnight. The last few days had been very exciting for everyone. A small farewell party was scheduled for the next day—held especially for the two boys, who had had to wait so long and had feared the concert wouldn't happen. But it did happen, and that’s something they won’t soon forget.

Episode 172: Lydia's Birthday (Part 1)

A starry night. We are back in Pleasantview, and a week has passed. Alexander and Robin had plenty to share about their trip and often found themselves thinking back to those days. But everyday life quickly caught up with them; school beckons, and studying for final exams is underway. Today, however, there is a birthday to celebrate—specifically that of Lydia, Cassie and Laszlo’s daughter.

"Good morning, Mom. Are there pancakes?" / "You bet. And after breakfast, we’re all going over to Cassie’s." / "We wanted to hang out with a few friends later, if that’s okay." / "Sure thing." / "Cool, thanks." / "And what do you want to do?" / "Oh, we’ll see—maybe the movies or meeting up in the park; we usually decide pretty spontaneously and just call each other." / "Mhm…"

While Bella took care of breakfast, the two boys chatted. "Why were you up so late yesterday, anyway? I was waiting for you." / "I was finishing up a few assignments. That way, I don't have to do them over the weekend." Alexander was always very ambitious when it came to exam prep and got it done as quickly as he could. "Oh man, you're such a nerd! Can I copy off you later?" / "Nope. But if there's something you don't know, just ask me." Robin looked at his friend, looking a bit offended. "Oh man, that's not fair." / "No, it's just fair." / "Right, boys—breakfast is ready."

"You look tired, Mom; is everything okay?" / "Sure, I just spent a long time at the easel last night. There are a few commissions right now that are giving me a bit of a headache." / "Don't overdo it; just do the ones you think are easy." / "Don't worry, sweetheart. I like the challenge; it's just a lot all at once. Some clients will just have to wait a little longer. I’m going to stop taking new orders." / "Good idea.".

"Have you guys heard anything from Jordan lately?" / "Well, he and Simone have been together for a while now; things are going pretty well for them. I wouldn't be surprised if wedding bells rang sometime soon." / "Mmhmm, yeah, that would be nice. She’s a sweetheart, after all." / "Yeah, that's true." / "Some people really plan their lives out well, while others do things spontaneously." / "And how are you two going to handle it?" The boys looked at each other, and Alexander knew he was the one who had to answer. "We aren't entirely sure about that yet…"...

Eventually, Robin did answer, poking at his food as he spoke. "I’ve spent far too little time with my brother so far… And we’re thinking about moving somewhere else later on." Bella and her husband exchanged surprised glances—especially since, just moments ago, the talk had been about not knowing what the future held. "And where to?" "Let's see, we aren't quite sure yet. I’d like Pavalli. Starlight Shores would be interesting, too. Or maybe Ampora Valley—they’re rebuilding everything there."/ "Phew… that’s quite a list; I’d have a hard time choosing, too."

After breakfast. Before heading over to see Cassandra, they took care of a few small, everyday tasks. Like bringing in the mail. And Alexander was surprised to see someone at that early hour who usually visited the family at night. "Lolita, hey, is everything okay?" She seemed a bit distracted—at any rate, she didn't answer right away. But then the words just came pouring out of her. "I wish I could live my life over again." Her voice was calm, melancholic, even wistful…. For Lolita, her mortal life came to an end too soon; she was on the verge of adulthood when she died of an electric shock. For reasons that defy explanation—given that there were no electrical appliances at all during the time she lived—"I'm sorry, sweetie, but I'm afraid I can't help you."

Lolita glanced up at the sky for a moment and took a deep breath before turning away again. "No, no one can help me… everyone has someone, and I have… no one." Lolita was not related to the family by blood. Yet, one day, she simply appeared in the family chronicle. The family had never found a proper explanation for it. Or perhaps the ancestors—already in the afterlife—simply refused to speak about it. Alexander had always felt great pity for her. But he also knew that the miracle granted to his mother was likely a rare exception.

Alexander and Robin took a taxi to Cassandra’s place. "So, what’s up with your parents today? They were in such a great mood…" Alexander smiled as he looked at his friend’s puzzled face. "It’s their wedding anniversary—23 years." "Really? That long?" Alexander nodded and looked out the window. "Yeah, I know, it’s hard to believe. It’s kind of cool having parents who are still so young… And honestly, what’s ever normal in my family?" "Hehe, nothing at all. That’s exactly what I like so much about you guys."

Upon arriving at Cassandra’s, everyone was greeted warmly. Then, baby Lydia was passed from arm to arm. "Oh, thanks for the lovely cake, Mom," Cassandra said to her mother, who had decided at the last minute to bake a birthday cake for her granddaughter. "Oh, it’s nothing special; the main thing is that everyone gets enough to eat. I hope you haven't had breakfast yet?"/ "We have, but only a light one. Well, my sweet girl, shall we celebrate?"

Birthdays are always something special, of course. And so, it was exciting to watch Lydia grow a little older and bigger. "Happy birthday, my little darling; may only good things come your way. Or maybe crazy things, too—with our family, you never know." / "Hahaha, maybe she’ll become a ghost hunter like her dad." / "Yeah, or paint pictures like her grandmother." / "No matter what she ends up doing, she’ll definitely have our support." Happy birthday, Lydia :)

Everyone got a piece of cake. But for the moment, Lazlo turned his attention to his daughter. "Hey, let me get a good look at you, sweetheart—don't be so shy." / "Nn-nn…" / "No? Oh, come on—just once for Daddy…" / "Leave her be, Lazlo; this is all new to her, after all. You’d be better off cutting up a piece of cake for her."

Even though the small piece of cake didn't look quite as appetizing as the ones on the other plates, Lydia had a lot of fun trying it. "Aww, look, she's enjoying her food… hehe, I hope she keeps the kitchen clean; I just finished tidying up in here." / "Oh, she's still just a baby." / "I'm really happy that my first grandchild is a girl." Lazlo saw the joy on Mortimer's face. "I bet, though I'd love to have a boy someday, too…" Cassandra looked at her husband and grinned slightly. "Well, as far as that goes, the decision isn't up to me—it's down to your swimmers giggle." / "You know what they say: boys make boys, and men make girls." / "Oh yeah, you're all man, haha…".

Note: In this episode, Lolita makes her first—albeit very brief—appearance. I had been planning to weave her into the story for quite some time. The fact that she showed up in the early hours of that particular day took even me by surprise, but I wanted to include her, at least briefly, right then. There will be a more extensive section about her later in the story, after all—everyone has their own theory as to why she belongs to this family in the first place and what might have happened to her. :)

Episode 171: Journey Home

It was shortly after 11:00 p.m. Elijah deliberately took his time with the drive. That way, he and the boys had one last chance to talk just among themselves. They chatted about the past few days and also about their hopes and dreams for the future. "No matter where life takes the two of you, I hope you stay as close as you are now. I can't imagine a life without Salomon anymore, either."

"Where do you want to go after graduation?" / "We don't really have an idea yet. But we definitely don't want to be too far away from our families…" Elijah fell silent for a moment, staring at the road. "I don't have any family left; Salomon is my family now. That’s why he’s so important to me." / "I understand. Man… Hey, thanks again for the new poster“/ „I'm sure you'll find a great spot for it. And I’d like to see a photo of it later, once you have your new place." / "Hehe, okay.".

Elijah dropped the guys off safely at their accommodation. Saying goodbye was a little hard for everyone. He had never met fans who were so nice—and, above all, so normal. "Well then, I hope you guys manage to leave on time tomorrow." / "Yeah, we’ve already been in touch with the carpool; they’re actually pretty reliable. Take care of yourself. And if you ever decide to hang up your career, let us know." / "Oh, not just yet."

"And you, Robin… I know that song is personal for you guys, but it’s really good—incredibly good—and your voice could really reach people. I don’t want to push you in any particular direction; that’s something you have to decide for yourselves. But you both have talent. Of course, you could also just stay a small band that plays the occasional gig here and there." / "We’ve still got time to think about it." / "Yeah, definitely."

You could feel that they all wanted to share one last hug. When do you ever get this close to a favorite singer? And everyone heads home filled with a sense of pure happiness. "Oh, I’m leaving now, or else I’ll get sentimental." / "That would be a good title for a future song." / "Haha, yeah, I guess so… Take care and get home safe."

After Elijah had driven off, the guys didn't really feel like doing anything else. They just wanted to get to bed, sleep, and shake off the mild buzz from the party. Still, there was something nice about letting their emotions run free with a slightly hazy head. And neither of them had any intention of ever mentioning back home that they’d had a drink… They heading home the next day.

The last breakfast in Crystalline Cove. "I hope you’ve enjoyed your stay here so far." / "Yes, all in all, it was really lovely. We’ll definitely come back here sometime." / "Though I probably won’t be living here next time." / "Oh, are you and your date planning to move in together?" Kendall smiled contentedly. "We have very strong feelings for each other; I think that’s going to happen soon, yeah.".

"Hmm, for some people things move faster, for others slower… Man, it won't be long before we graduate." / "Yeah. I want to spend a bit more time on the guitar soon—will you help me?" / "Sure, it’s not that hard…" / "Heh, you two will make good musicians, even if it’s just as a hobby. And I’m really looking forward to your books, too, Alexander." Alex took the last bite and hurriedly chewed it down. "Yeah, we'll see what else comes to mind. I certainly don't lack inspiration.".

After the meal, they packed up the rest of their things. "Okay, did we forget anything?" / "I don't think so—you've got your guitar, you've got your keyboard." / "Mhm. Then I think we've got everything… You're a bit sad, though, aren't you?" / "It was something special, sure… but I'm glad we can stay in touch; that really means a lot to me." / "Me too." … The two of them hugged and shared a quick kiss. Then they walked with their things to the front door, where Kendall was already waiting for them.

"Well, I hope you have a safe trip home. I’ll contact Alexander’s father right away to let him know you’re on your way." / "All right. Thanks again for letting us stay here for the past few days." / "Oh, it was no trouble at all; you were great company." / They said their goodbyes and wished each other well once more. The car arrived less than two minutes later, and they set off for the airport with a few others.

Alexander and Robyn left the city with mixed but positive feelings. The start of their journey had been uncertain, yet they had been lucky enough to attend a concert for the very first time. Elijah, too, certainly wouldn't forget them anytime soon. Now they were looking forward to being home—to seeing their parents and siblings—and, above all, to their upcoming graduation. We will see them again next time back in Pleasantview.

Episode 164: Ready, set, record… (Part 1)

It was already past nine o'clock, and usually, no one drove by the Salon at this hour. But since everything was about to change, a new stage outfit was needed—and fast. "What do you think? Should I get a haircut?" / "That’s up to you; you’re not supposed to be changing your entire image, after all." Elijah stared into the mirror, examining himself with a particularly critical eye. "But maybe… maybe that’s exactly what I need?" / "Then you have to listen to your gut… I’ve always liked your hairstyle up to now. But something new… That would certainly be interesting…".

"Okay… Listen to my gut…" / "Hehe, you’ll do just fine. Afterward, we can talk about whether anything needs tweaking—okay? Just be yourself; let your inner self shine through." / "Sorry, I don't actually feel like puking right now…" / "Hahaha… You’re almost back to your old self again. Come on, I want to go to bed.".

After the styling. Elijah had felt a few qualms. He wanted to change things up a bit—both on the inside and the outside. "Oh man, now you look younger than I do, hehe." / "Not good?" / "Oh, on the contrary—incredibly good… Did you find something good for the stage, too?" / "Yeah, I don't think you need to take another look at that; I was happy with it." / "Well, alright then."

The age gap between the two is only a few years. Elijah is the older of the two—even if he doesn’t look it. On the other hand, he is also the more reserved one. But he really doesn’t have to be. Salomon always knew just how to boost his self-confidence again. “Let’s go home now, okay? Mo is coming over tomorrow, and we’ve got a lot planned.”

11:48 PM. The evening unfolded quietly and contemplatively for everyone involved—and, in part, sensually as well, for Salomon and Elijah felt as though they were a brand-new couple all over again, despite knowing each other so well. This guarantees a solid foundation for their shared journey ahead. The next day, the plan is to head to the recording studio in the morning.

10:26 AM the next day. After meeting up for breakfast, they drove together to the building Robin had spotted just a few days earlier—the recording studio. Originally, he had intended to record a song behind his boyfriend's back, but now things had turned out differently. In truth, though, isn't it actually much better to make music together? "Do you think he's there yet?" / "Sure—always on time, that guy.".

The recording studio was located at the back of the building. To reach it, one first had to walk through the record store. After admiring a few posters and album covers, they headed toward the back. There, sound engineer Mo was already in his element. "Ah, look who’s here—the master himself…" Mo was always fully focused on the task at hand. He was really just making a few minor adjustments, but generally speaking, he always executed his work with meticulous precision.

Once everyone had entered the room, Mo stood up. "It’s really hard to tear you away once you’re sitting at the mixing console." / "Hehe, yeah, sorry about that—I’ve all ears for you guys now. Hello, my friend." / "Very good. Hey, how are you? We haven't seen each other in ages." / "Yeah, I know. I'm doing well—and back in Canada, everything is still standing, hehe." / "That's good to hear.".

Elijah, too, was greeted with a hug and eyed with curiosity. "Hmm… where did all that hair go?" / "It came off yesterday; I just felt the need to make a change." / "It actually looks really good. And otherwise—are you doing okay?" The question escaped Mo’s lips in an almost probing tone, yet Elijah knew exactly how to respond. "Yes—now, more than ever." …After that, Alexander greeted the man who would be recording their song with them today. "Nice to meet you… And which of you two will be singing?" /…

"That’ll be me." Robin initially observed everything from a safe distance. Then Mo’s gaze fell upon him. "Hmm. Is this your first time in a recording studio?" / "Yes, for both of us." / "How many times have you played the song together already?" / "Not at all yet." Mo looked from one to the other without betraying any expression. Then he pursed his lips and eyed the two skeptically. "Interesting. And you think you’ll get it right on the first try? Well, I have my doubts…" / "Why?" asked Robin, sounding a little teasing. "You have to get in sync with each other—rely on one another—if you want to make music together."

“Oh, we do, we always rely on each other. And I’m sure we’ll pull it off.” At that moment, Robin’s overflowing self-confidence went unnoticed by no one. “Hmm… But you’re still nervous, aren’t you? Let’s do a rehearsal first. I want to record the instrumental part first, since I’ve never heard the song before,” Mo said decisively, then looked over at Alexander. “Can you play it flawlessly?” / “By now, yes…” / “Okay, once I’ve got that in the can, we’ll do it again with vocals.”

"O.K., we just have one request…" Robin spoke up, his voice trembling with excitement. But Mo was experienced enough by now to immediately put the boys at ease. "I think I already know what concerns you have. Don't worry—at most, I’ll just be adding things. The keyboard is for the melody; I’ll keep track of the beat myself; and we’ll try something out with drums. Trust me, okay? You just have to tell me later if the tempo feels right; we’ll keep doing run-throughs until we’re all on the same page." / "O.K… Phew…" / "Haha, sounds like a lot, I know, but it’s actually easy."

Once everything else had been discussed, the boys headed into the recording booth. For the moment, they couldn't hear what was being said in the control room. "They’re still so young, and his voice is a little shaky…" / "…I know, but somehow, it has a certain something." / "Hmm. Just recording something once so he can hear himself—I’ve never had a request like that before. Alright then…" Mo took his seat at the mixing console. And Elijah and Salomon? They positioned themselves slightly to the side, in the background, confident that they wouldn't be disappointed.

Episode 141: Little Brother, Big Miracle (Loong Part)

Later that evening, Bella had taken her friend to the hospital and waited there until Orlando finally arrived. He was just as surprised as she and his wife that their second son was going to arrive a little early. But he went to his wife and helped her with the birth. Little Graham was born healthy two hours later. Once she was sure that all three of them were doing well, Bella was able to go home.

At home, it was quiet. Mortimer was already in bed, so she wanted to check on Robin again, since Tessa had also asked her to and told her about the observation she had made shortly before her contractions started. Arriving in his room, she saw that he was already under the covers again, warmly wrapped up for the night. Then she noticed her son, who was leaning against the armchair at the far end of the room and seemed a little shaken up. "Alexander? What's wrong?" / "I… I don't know, he… he was crying." / "What, but… Was he awake?" / "No…"

"But how did you come to that conclusion that he…"/ "When I came back, he had wet eyes, okay? He was crying… I'm not imagining it. I… I tried to talk to him, but he won't open his eyes." Bella glanced briefly at Robin and swallowed hard. Maybe that was a sign. Then she continued in a calm voice. "But he must have heard you, and maybe… your music?" Alexander shrugged slightly. "Maybe… Maybe it was… because of his mom, I don't know, I'm just… I don't know whether to be happy or…" He shook his head and buried his face in his hands. "Come here, sweetheart, you're completely flustered.".

Bella could feel how agitated her son was. He trembled, holding her tightly. "Maybe it's a good sign, Alex." / "I…Can I sleep at his place tonight? Please, Mom." / "Yes, of course… Maybe you could play the piece for him again tomorrow." / "I don't know, should I?" / "If you get the same reaction again, then you'll know he's not far away." He nodded silently and held onto his mother for a while longer.

Even though he was still a little confused, Alexander still wanted to spend the night at Robin’s. And he thought again about what he had noticed. He had, of course, hoped for a reaction, but that it would come so quickly had thrown him off balance. “Don’t be alarmed, I’ll lie down with you. I have some music here to help us fall asleep. Toxic is giving a concert in a few months.”.

"You're probably freaking out inside right now, aren't you?… I'm going to try and get two tickets for us, I hope they're not sold out yet. And he's not exactly famous, so everyone's not exactly scrambling to see him. I'll get us there whether you're awake or not, you hear me?"… Alexander took a deep breath as he looked at Robyn wistfully. he couldn't get the image out of his mind of his friend lying before him with moist eyes.

After finishing the short conversation, he turned on the MP3 player, turned the music down so quietly it was barely audible, and placed it on the nightstand. Later, under the covers, he took Robin's hand and held it until he fell asleep. They both own loads of CDs by that singer. And a concert like that would be fantastic, since they've never been to one before.

A few days later. It's Friday morning. Spring is slowly transitioning into summer, but the temperatures are still bearable. The day is relaxed; Bella has done some housework, and Mortimer is devouring his new books. Then the doorbell rang. Tessa has come by with her youngest. "Oh, how lovely that you're here!" / "Yes, I thought today would be a good day to introduce Graham to his big brother *giggle."…

A crib had been set up in Bella's bedroom, in case Graham or another small child needed a nap. Tessa went in, but only to put down her bag. "Well, would you like to meet your big brother? He's asleep… you know? And he's been asleep for a very long time." Tessa looked at her little son's face and lovingly stroked his head. A touch of melancholy washed over her… "Well then… Come on." She went into the other bedroom, where Bella was already waiting.

When she was with her son, she chatted with Bella for a bit. By now, Tessa was quite relaxed as soon as she entered the room and saw her son lying there. As if everything were normal. But that's how everyone should treat him—normally. And then she did what she wished she had done the day Graham was born—she gently placed the baby on Robin's chest.

"Hey, that looks pretty cool, doesn't it?" / "Hn, yeah." / "That's your little brother, honey…" The two women watched as little Graham made himself almost literally comfortable on his big brother's chest. Besides, the little one was quite sleepy today. "Oh, that's so cute," Bella gushed as she watched the baby stretch. "Do you see that?" Tessa pointed at the monitor. "Mhm…"

Robin's heartbeat quickened noticeably. The day before, Alexander had been in Robin's room again with his keyboard, and the same thing had happened. Robin had tears in her eyes. So it wasn't a coincidence. It was as if a dam was slowly opening… And at that moment, it burst open with full force in Front of Tessa and Bella's eyes. "Oh my God…"

Robin's expression changed abruptly, initially a little pained, his eyes still closed. Then his features relaxed, and he slowly opened his eyes. "Robin…" His mother was shocked… And it was clear that he was searching for her with his eyes. It wasn't a fixed stare…

Tessa fell to her knees beside the bed, sobbing. “Robin, oh my darling, you… you’re awake, I… It’s me, Mommy.” She stroked his face, almost frantically, looked at him, and waited for a reaction. He blinked and tried to say something, but it was incredibly difficult for him. “M—… Mom…” / “Oh God, my boy, my darling…” In that moment, it was clear that Robin had been trying to fight his way back all along. And he had succeeded.

Bella couldn't believe it either and fought back tears. “Robin, hey, Groundhog, there you are again… oh, I have such goosebumps.” The joy was immense. And again Robin tried to say something, but it only came out quietly, his voice still very weak. “Where… Alex?” / “Oh, he’s at school, but… I think he can skip class for today. I’ll text him right away.” With trembling fingers, she typed a short message for Alexander and sent it. And she was sure that it wouldn’t be long before he was back in that room.

NOTE: I'd been really looking forward to this episode for a long time. And I'm sorry if it's a bit longer than I expected. I couldn't and didn't want to split it up. It also took a lot of energy and patience, as I had to make several changes to the original text. It all reminded me so much of the time I was in a coma myself and woke up after a few weeks. Robin is definitely luckier than I was in this story, even though his coma lasted considerably longer. I cried a lot while writing this episode, but I'm glad it's finally out. Episode 173: Lydia's Birthday (Part 2)

A quick note upfront: unfortunately, there were too few photos from the rest of the birthday celebration, so don't be surprised if the title doesn't quite match the rest of the episode. AND: There is NO content in this post that is unsuitable for minors, even if Tumblr might like to label it that way! Everyone is fully clothed; there are no orgies or anything of the sort taking place.

Everyone is still busy enjoying cake at Lydia’s birthday party. "And how are things otherwise, Mom?" / "Very well. I’m really having to juggle a lot with work right now, but things are moving forward. Cassandra liked seeing the way her brother interacted with her daughter. "Oh, she takes after you completely, Mom," she said, glancing over at her mother. "I do have good genes, after all. She’s sure to grow up to be just as pretty as you… and me, of course—giggle." They share a lighthearted moment. It is always lovely to spend time with family. Even if paths eventually part, the bond between them remains.

As Alexander held Lydia in his arms, Cassandra couldn't help but smile a little. "Is something wrong?" / "No… A child really suits you, somehow." / "Well, actually 'making' one would be a bit difficult for the two of us." / "I know, but there are plenty of ways to have a child, even in your case." Alexander smiled and looked down at the little girl. "Yeah, but I’m not worrying about that right now, and neither is Robin." / "You don't have to; there's plenty of time. Go put her in the living room."

Alexander set Lydia down in the living room, where a few toys had already been laid out for her. "What is it? Why are you grinning like that?" / "Just thinking about what happened a moment ago. Later, Alexander and Robin drove together to the place where they used to meet—alone and in secret. Gradually, other friends and schoolmates arrived. "Hey, Robin… That looks really good—can I join in?" / "Sure, the more the merrier; I used to play it with my mom—she always lost to me, haha." After all, playing together is more fun anyway.

They had known each other since childhood. And when Robin was in a coma, there was great concern; after all, it was uncertain whether he would ever be his old self again. But he managed to emerge from the dark world inside his mind. Naturally, the joy was all the greater when he was able to return to school. And soon, their youth will be over.

Alexander quickly manages to draw attention to himself. As soon as he sets up his red keyboard somewhere, all eyes turn to him. And when the first notes ring out, the rest of the crowd gets swept up in his music, too. By now, almost everyone has recognized his great talent. He plays his latest song, which he had written on the side during his time at Crystalline Cove.

The foosball game came to an end; everyone had become too distracted by Alexander’s music. "Looks like it’s a draw. Thanks, that was fun." / "Yeah, for me too. After putting away his keyboard, Alexander walked over to Robin, who was standing in the room with a melancholy look on his face. "Hey, are you okay?" "Mhm, yeah. Until a year ago, I thought I’d just spend all day sitting in my room, listening to music and cursing my life. But so much has changed since I’ve had you by my side. Thanks—you’re the best thing that could have happened to me." Alexander smiled, feeling deeply flattered; sometimes, he was even at a loss for words. "Want to go outside for a bit?" "Okay." Uncertain where they would end up that day, the two of them set off, leaving their friends behind.

Episode 146: Closeness

Later. A few more days have passed. Robin goes to Jordan's every day and is really diligent about doing his exercises. Even though it's incredibly difficult, he's determined to be back on his feet soon. He's keeping his progress to himself for now and has asked Jordan not to tell the others yet. He even does some exercises in secret now and then. The more, the better. But tonight is a relaxed evening.

Alexander has been working on a new piece of music that he was eager to show Robin. It's completely different from the first piece he wrote. Well, that one was very personal, after all. The melody is catchy and quite fast, almost a pop song. "Hey, that's enough already, you've probably played it for me four times by now."

After Alexander returned his keyboard to his room, his mother came upstairs with some food. "Wow, it looks fantastic, thank you…" / "Only the best for you two. Do you need anything else?" / "No. "I'll bring the plate back down later." / "Okay, then enjoy your meal." But neither of them was particularly hungry yet, so they decided to make themselves comfortable and chat.

"I'll bring you a huge pile of assignments again tomorrow, okay? I'm really surprised you've almost caught up with all the schoolwork so quickly." / "Well, the material is easy… And I've always been a fast learner." / "Yeah, that's right… Amazing, we'll be finished with school in a few months. And then?" / "We'll see… I'd like to travel a bit…" / "First, we're going to Crystalline Cove," said Alexander in a firm but cheerful tone, tapping him on the forehead with his finger.

"Sounds pretty picturesque, if you ask me." / "Well, that's where the concert is and he's staying there… By the way, I also found accommodation for us." / "I hope it's without thresholds." / "Hehe, I can carry you over them." Robin grinned. The boys had grown very close again recently, emotionally, as partners, and as friends. "Dinner can wait, right?". Alexander asked softly, looking up to Robin, who's gently stroking his face. "Yeah, sure… Why?".

Alexander slowly sat up and then turned to Robin. Then he kissed him… "Well, I thought…" he began, but then paused for a moment. Robin was slightly taken aback and wanted him to answer calmly. "Hmm, well, what did you think?" / "I don't mean to be intrusive, okay? It's been quite a while since we were in the woods and… you know…" Robin understood the implication and stroked his face again. "Yeah,… and you know what's crazy? We weren't alone there that day." / "What do you mean?" / "Joe saw us…" / "What?!" Alexander looked at him, slightly horrified.

Robin smiled, a little amused. "Hmm, well, you hardly need to get upset about it anymore… I already did. He told me the day… the accident happened." For a brief moment, Alexander had the horrific images of the accident in his mind. Then he squeezed his eyes shut. "Hh, Joe… oh man… I just don't want to think about it anymore, Robin… okay?" Robin saw the emotional pain that had been with Alex all along and resurfaced for a moment. Then he stroked him soothingly again and whispered, "Me neither…" No further words were spoken. Instead, Robin now took the lead a little. Because he, too, longed for what Alexander had been missing all along: intimacy.

Robin loved being touched by Alexander. It had been a really long time since they had been this close. And even though he had initiated it, he gladly let Alex take the lead. He felt safe with him. They savored every minute they had. And eventually, long after it had grown dark, the two of them enjoyed Bella's delicious, savory pie.

Later, Alexander got dressed and took the plate back to the kitchen. "So, did you like it?" / "Yes, it was really delicious, Mom. Maybe less bacon next time, though, that was a bit much." / "Oh, you thought so? Your father said the same thing. Oh well…" Leni vied a little for Alexander's attention, which she naturally received. "Well, my sweetie, you're starting to get some grey fur," / "Yes, she's quite a bit older since you've had her," / "Mhm, I can still remember the day we got her from the animal shelter."

Bella went to her son and smiled. "Yes, you were so incredibly happy, I remember that too." Alexander nodded and glanced down at his dog again. "Hmm. I'll go upstairs then, Robin's already asleep." / "O.k. Was he in a good mood today? I'll call Tessa later, then I can tell her." / "Well…" Alex replayed the intimate moments that had recently taken place in the room in his mind's eye. Then he answered. "Yes, he was in a good mood earlier," he chuckled. "Hn, o.k.. Good night, sweetheart." / "Good night, Mom." She could certainly imagine what might have happened up there. But she never made any comment about it and simply enjoyed seeing her son so happy.

Episode 151: Ghost Extermination and Anticipation

It's just after 6:00 PM and still almost broad daylight. Lazlo has already made a name for himself here. He's called out again to ensure the residents of the house can sleep peacefully again. The Lynn family is being plagued by restless spirits. And another call is already waiting in the wings.

Everyone relies on Lazlo, because he's the only one who can best deal with the spirits and knows how to remove them from the properties one by one. Luna the dog remains unfazed by all the commotion; she's more interested in her ball than in the sounds the banishing beam is making.

The little ghosts are having fun chasing Lazlo all over the house, only to hide in the garden again. "Just you wait, you won't be laughing for long. Don't underestimate me, who's the pro here?"… No matter the time of day, these little ones are the easiest to catch. It's a completely different story at the next property, which is right next door.

In some houses, there are spirits that are invisible to the ordinary residents. But Lazlo always knows exactly where they like to hang out and usually tracks them down quickly. They are persistent individuals who have been living in the houses for many, many years. "This is terrible, I want to get out of here, Dad!" / "Don't worry, Mr. Curious has everything under control."

Apparently, the people in the house were so shocked by the apparitions that they forgot to put the baby to bed. "Well, pretty girl? How are you doing? A ghost hunter doesn't just take care of infested houses, he also makes sure young ladies like you are safely tucked away in bed. Maybe our daughter will soon have a friend. Sleep well, sweetie, it's time for me to clock off and I'm looking forward to seeing my wife." A kind heart is always welcome.

Later. Shortly before 11:00 p.m. Lazlo had hoped to find his wife wake. But she was already in bed. "Hn, my angel. Our little girl probably kept her up a bit longer. I know she can't always fall asleep so quickly. They sorely missed her at the institute during her pregnancy. She had a full desk, and Orlando couldn't keep up with the work. Nevertheless, she really enjoys her job. Well then, off to bed.

A few days have passed, and it's Friday morning. Finally, the big day is almost here, because Alexander and Robin plan to travel to Crystalline Cove that very evening. Everything is arranged. The taxi ride, the flight, and their accommodation there are all booked. The two of them will be staying with a police officer who often takes in tourists. They want to make the most of their stay, so the boys will be there for a whole week.

"Oh man, you were tossing and turning quite a bit last night." / "Sorry if I kept you up, it's just nerves, you know?" / "Nervousness? I'd say it's more like excitement. I feel the same way. But first we're going to school, okay? »/,,okay. And then a week off, I'm going crazy,»/ »We've earned it, hnhn”.

While her owner is at school, Leni plays outside with her ball. There’s nothing else for her; it’s pure joy. But sometimes she gets a little too boisterous, and then minor accidents can happen. Luckily, she’s never seriously hurt herself. Bella is currently working on a few commissions; her skills as a painter are still in high demand.

“Well then. A client would like something to remind her of her past. She sent me a few suggestions. Hmm. Either I choose one of them, or I combine them all a bit? Let’s see what I can come up with…” Before each of her pieces, Bella takes a moment to reflect and find inspiration. Only then does she begin to paint.

Jordan and Simone are now officially a couple in town. The boys are happy about it, too. They're in good contact, and friendships have developed over the many months of working together. The hospital has also caught wind of the fact that there's a good physiotherapist in town, and so he's called in every now and then. Extra money can't be a bad thing.

Cassandra took the day off today. Everything is running smoothly at the institute, and Orlando is really enjoying his work now, which wasn't the case for a long time. But he also likes spending time with his youngest. Today Lydia is getting some fresh air. "Well, my sweetie? That's good, isn't it? It's nice that we live so far out here; you get to see so much of nature."

Even though the sun is a bit blinding, the little girl is enjoying the pleasant warmth. Who knows what she'll become? Perhaps she'll become a scientist too? Or an artist like her grandmother? Ultimately, it's up to the girl to decide what she want to do. The main thing is that she's happy. "Aww, my sweetie, we'll turn right around; we don't want you to get sunburned."

Lazlo, on the other hand, is currently working a lot on the computer. Things have calmed down for him now, too. "The number of ghosts is steadily decreasing. On the one hand, that's great, of course. But if it continues like this, I'll probably have nothing left to do here at some point. And yet, most of them are incredibly persistent… I'll get the last few that are still lingering in the city. Then I'll have cleared everything out."
