Robert Schröder arrived on the German music scene seemingly fully developed. Under the production and mentorship of Uber Ambient Wunderkind Klaus Schulze, Schröder’s debut — “Harmonic Ascendent”— is a wonderfully conceived and executed album, pairing classical and ambient into a beautiful stew of tones and moods. This is an album to wake up to, to watch the sunset with, to put on when you simply want to chill. Sometimes lumped in with the sprawling Krautrock movement, by the time this album arrived that soundscape had pretty much run its course. More significantly he is paired with the Berlin school of ambient music. #TodaysLessonOnRacism For marginalized people certain comments are longtime evidence systemic racism is alive and well in this country. Louisville police chief #RobertSchroeder wants to "move forward" in anticipation of demonstrations as the #BreonnaTaylor grand jury verdict is announced by state (Black) AG @DanielCameronAG. Once again Black and Latinx people are asked to forget what happened and move on. Imagine having multiple devastating experiences and being told to just, "move on". Telling people of the Hebrew faith to "move on" when discussing the Holucaust is no less demeaning. In addition to Taylor, #George Floyd, #JacobBlake, #RayshardBrooks and #DanielPrude there were 600+ people killed by police by August 2020. Black and Hispanic people make up half of these killings. When an unarmed black man is shot, I see my nephews & the sons of my friends. To see it over and over, year after year with no consequence, moving forward is hardly the next move. Until there is equity in criminal justice, America cannot meet her commitment to her people.
