Paul Smith Fails To Make Weight In Andre Ward’s Boxing Return

Andre Ward’s boxing return will still go on as planned tonight, though not without controversy. Ward’s opponent, Paul Smith came into the weigh-in over the 172 weight limit. Smith hit the scales at 176.4 pounds, over four pounds above the limit according to ESPN’s Dan Rafael. As a result Smith paid a hefty penalty of 20 percent of his purse for tonight.
