Freemasonry and the Flood.

“Rainbow imagery appears in Masonic symbolism and is associated with falling comets and the Flood. The above image is taken from an old Masonic tracing board that was used to instruct Freemasons in the ancient traditions of the order. At the top a hand appears from the sky holding a dagger, which is known to be an extremely  old symbol for a comet. Around the hand, sea waves are depicted, possibly symbolizing the top of the waters when the floodwaters struck. In the center we are shown a rainbow containing the five-pointed star (pentagram) which is a representation of Venus, the morning star which symbolizes rebirth in Judaism, Freemasonry and many other ancient traditions. Below the rainbow is the burning bush, from which God is said to have spoken to Moses in the Sinai, and below that is an underground cavern which must have been the only sanctuary during the dark, cold and very wet months after the comet impact.”

Some scientists theorize based on research of tektites (small glassy stones found around the earth) that approximately 10,000 years ago during the Holocene period, 7 large fragments from a comet that had broken up hit primarily the oceans of the world (Image 2).

The Origins of Freemasonry

The process of initiation is one of regeneration.  It means developing your inmost essence, first to birth and then to full growth. This involves a rejection and mystical death of all the lower principles that obstruct your growth. This path is traced through our three degrees:

The first stage involves refining your gross sense-nature, killing your desire for material attractions and developing indifference to the allure of the outer world.

The second involves disciplining and clarifying your mind till it becomes pure and strong enough to respond to a spiritual order of life and wisdom. This is why in our Second Degree the discovery of a sacred symbol in the center of the building shows a first glimpse of your personal center.  This knowledge is followed by a desire to wipe from your heart all obstacles to complete union with the Center.

The third stage, the last and greatest trial, involves the voluntary death of your sense of ego and separation from the universal life-essence. As your limited ego dies, your become conscious of a Bright Morning Star within you, illuminating your mental horizon.
