Bro I was rereading The Catcher in the Rye and Ackley's mentality is kinda parallel to Holden? Like in the sense that it *seems* like Ackley don't give a damn abt anybody and if it wasn't written from Holden's pov, Holden probably would too. But even then, we see a little that Ackley does care after Holden and Stradlater fight, he gets excited when Holden says that Stradlater said somethin about him.
I just wonder if Ackley is supposed to represent how Holden would react to himself or to show how Holden how some people would perceive himself without knowing his story. Or just a cautionary tale yk?
