who: @rob-ioane, @nate-shaw, @jensen-reynolds, @loren-velazquez and @gems-campbell
“Hey, bitch,” Jensen said as she dropped down next to Sav in the courtyard, the words unceremonious even though Sav could’ve sworn the blonde no longer went to Luxor. Loren was of course with her, two of the most manipulative people Sav knew hanging out with each other, though Loren’s face was buried in her phone, a disconcerting smirk on her face as she furiously typed. “Heard that bitch Madeleine punched you in the face,” Jensen continued.
Sav both just looked at Jensen, confusion all over her face as she stared at her. “Jensen, that happened like literally over two months ago,” she replied her eyebrows raising up on her forehead. Rob, from where they were sitting next to Sav, let out a snort of laughter at the statement, their eyes wide as they tried to figure out if Jensen was joking, just a touch horrified.
Jensen just paused, her head tipping towards one side and eyes somewhat glazing over as she tried to reconcile the concept of actual time passing with the incoherency of her life. She genuinely could’ve sworn that when she heard about it, it had happened recently. Did she just hear about it recently? Or did she really just forget about it for awhile. “Whatever,” she finally said, shaking off her head along with actually thinking as she refocused on Sav. “So it’s true? Aren’t you, like, her only friend or something?”
“Just because you don’t like her doesn’t mean she doesn’t have plenty of friends, Jensen,” Sav replied with a sigh, her patience with the other girl already running out. Her Jensen quota was higher than some people’s, but even still, three sentences was about where she drew her limit. “Like, Loren likes Maddie! But yeah. It’s true.”Â
“Liked,” Loren corrected, holding up one finger without actually looking at them. “I fucked Axel, she did not love that from me.”
“Hey, Sav fucked her boyfriend too,” Rob drawled as an explanation, not looking up from their laptop this time, one of those people who was always busy with something, despite class not actually being in session. Undoubtably planning some sort of protest or petition.Â
“Ex-boyfriend, Rob,” Sav immediately shot back, looking over towards them with irritation, as Rob just glanced up towards her, rolling their eyes in response at the distinction.
“Not totally an arbitrary difference,” Loren said in response, finally looking up from her phone as she looked over to Sav, an expression on her face that immediately made Sav narrow her eyes, the brunette literally one of the last people she’d trust at Luxor. Including Maddie, who quite literally probably wanted her dead at the moment. “I mean, ex-boyfriends are fair game. Even some boyfriends. If you ask me.”Â
“Funny, I don’t think anyone did,” Rob said, their voice not bothering hiding their disgust with that statement, eyes meeting Loren’s with little hesitation despite the brunette’s talent for screwing other people over.Â
“Sorry, but who are you?” Loren immediately shot back, her green eyes practically firing daggers at Rob daring to speak to her in such a way.Â
“Okay, okay, that’s enough. Rob, this is Loren, Senator Velazquez’s daughter,” Sav said, holding one hand out to each of them as if trying to stop it from coming to blows (verbal or physical, she was never quite sure what was about to happen with Loren). She looked at Rob, eyebrows raising up on her forehead as she waited for the significance - for Rob - of Loren’s parentage to sink in. “Also, Helena’s cousin.”
“You’re related to Helena? You guys look nothing alike,” Rob replied, glancing over at Loren, though they definitely saw the same obnoxious attitude as Helena.Â
“Thank you,” Loren said primly, tossing her hair behind her shoulders before going back to her phone, leaving Rob looking over to Sav with an expression of complete confusion on their face. Sav just raised her shoulders up - she genuinely had no idea what the vibes were between the cousins, nor did she give a fuck.
“Can you guys keep it down? Some of us actually are trying to do work,” Gemma snapped as she turned around from the table behind them, all four of them looking at her as she glared at them with none of her usual pageant charm.
“Well, some of us don’t have to be in summer school,” Jensen chirped back.
Loren paused, looking out of the corner of her eyes towards the blonde, a rare look of confusion on her face. “Jensen, you failed like three classes last year, you are in summer school,” she said.
“Do you even go here still?” Sav asked, the words overlapping with Loren’s to some extent, genuinely confused as to how she hadn’t seen the blonde in literally a year.Â
“Yes,” Jensen said, opening her eyes up as wide as she could as she attempted to look at Sav with innocence. “I just forgot about it for a few months.”Â
“You forgot you went to school for a few months?” Rob immediately chimed in, their expression only getting more and more horrified at every additional thing Jensen said.
“You’re so dumb sometimes,” Sav said, shaking her head as she looked at Jensen, a noise of protest leaving the other blonde, though it died out fairly quickly. It’s not like she had any argument to refute for that.Â
“Anyways,” Jensen said loudly, clapping her hands together, thoroughly distracted from the fact that she had come over to bother Sav about Maddie. “Since summer is almost over, you should throw a party. Before classes start again and we’re all doomed to the tedium of Luxor with school.”Â
“Babe, are you not going to your classes right now?” Loren asked, a faux-concerned expression on her face, putting Helena out of her mind - something she tried to do consistently, if she was being honest - as she turned back towards Jensen, the blonde completely ignoring her. It was actually impressive how she gave zero acknowledgement to somebody else even speaking.Â
“Tedium, big word,” Sav said as her only response to Jensen, sarcasm clear as she spoke, her face not showing any other reaction to the suggestion. Â
“Sav isn’t staying anyways. She never has to go through the tedium of Luxor classes again,” Rob pointed out, shutting their laptop since they clearly weren’t able to get any work done with these three surrounding them. They liked Sav and all, mostly because she was always down to smoke a j, but it was times like these they remembered how privileged the blonde was.Â
Sav’s mouth twisted at Rob’s words, remembering the phone call she had had the other day with her father, a sigh leaving her lips. “Not true, actually. Trust fund being held over my head if I don’t go to college, so you’re stuck with me. At least until I convince my parents otherwise,” she replied, not bothering to hold the bitterness out of her voice.Â
“Okay, perfect. So what I’m hearing is….Sav’s throwing a party,” Jensen said, practically beaming.Â
“How is that what you got out of that, Jensen?” Sav immediately said, her eyes widening as she threw her hands up.Â
“We’ll invite hot boys, we’ll bring a bunch of alcohol and drugs, every summer needs an absolute rager to end it,” Jensen said dreamily as she leaned her chin into one hand, eyes scanning the library around them. “He’s hot. We’ll invite him,” she added, her other hand motioning towards the male walking by, which fo Sav’s complete horror was of course Nate, like this couldn’t get any worse.Â
“Oh no, he’s absolutely not invited,” Sav said quickly as she looked over her shoulder at him, looking back towards Jensen with a firm shake of her head.Â
Rob rolled their eyes, waving to Nate as he looked over towards the group, neither Jensen nor Sav bothering to keep their voices down. “He’s not that bad, Sav. Plus he’s friends with Rhia, and we would invite her,” they pointed out.Â
“Invite Rhia to what?” Nate said as he approached the table, standing behind Sav’s chair.
“Sav’s party, apparently,” Loren replied, her eyes flickering over Nate for a moment as she took the male in, a smirk on her face.Â
“You’re throwing a party and not inviting me?” Nate asked as he rested his hands against the back of Sav’s chair, leaning his weight into them so he could look down at her.Â
“Suck a dick, Nate,” Sav replied, tilting her chin up enough to look at him, clear animosity on her face. “I’m not throwing a party. And if I was, no, you’re not invited, because you’re just going to get into another fight with Marcello.”Â
“Oh fuck, I forgot you’re dating that piece of shit now. Just when I thought neither of you could get worse,” Nate said, his disgust clear in his voice.Â
“Not technically dating,” Sav said in a sing-song tone, rolling her eyes as she turned away from Nate.Â
“You’re definitely dating,” Rob muttered under their breath, Nate holding out one fist for them in agreement, Rob lifting theirs to bump against his.Â
Sav’s mouth dropped open as she looked between her supposed friend and Nate. “Not officially. He’s just…You know, I don’t like this. I don’t like this at all,” she said, one finger lifting up to motion towards the air where their fists had just been, practically hearing the roll of Nate’s eyes from behind her in response as she changed the subject. “But fine. Whatever. You’re invited, Nate. Just so Marcello can beat the shit out of you again.”Â
“You’re definitely invited,” Jensen said as she tipped back in her chair, teeth biting down onto her lower lip as she made little attempt to hide her eyes flickering up and down Nate’s frame. Actually, she was probably exaggerating it.Â
Sav just looked towards Jensen again, letting out an exhale and a shake of her head. “Oh my god, why am I agreeing to this? You’re a cocaine addict, you’re a senator’s daughter, you’re going to bum all my drugs off me because you can’t afford your own, plus you hate my- the guy I’m sleeping with, who is obviously a priority over you, and you just get stoned out of your mind every night. What about this party sounds like a good idea to any of you?” Sav asked, tapping her fingers against the table in front of her as she looked between each of them in turn, waiting for one of them to answer, not that she could really judge any of them for any of those things. Except Nate, obviously.
“…Chaos, obviously.” Jensen spoke with a shrug of one shoulder, her full lips curling into a smirk as she looked Sav in the eye, one eyebrow raising up.
Sav looked at her, exhaling heavily as she shook her head. “Fuck it. You’re right. Party in my dorm, I guess. Unless you think we should do a party bus into the city,” she mused, trying to think if her parents were still out at the Hamptons with the Manhattan apartment empty.
“Now you’re fucking thinking, Grey!” Jensen squealed, getting up and pressing a kiss into Sav’s cheek before bounding off without any other words, Loren, Sav, Rob and Nate all looking after her, more confusion on their faces, which was honestly just the typical expression of anyone having to interact with Jensen.Â
Sav looked back towards Loren, their eyes meeting in the stunned silence as a furrow appeared between Sav’s brows. “…was that a yes to the party bus?”
