Something for the die-hard collectors...
I managed to come across someone (a 11-year hurdle) and persuade to rip a tape from Justin Broadrick's first label, Post Mortem Rekordings from his teenage years before joining Napalm Death. First ever occasion I've even seen such a tape to actually exist...
FERN is Justin's stepfather Rob Fern who also raised him and was a member of Anti-Social, which is a whole other story, recommend to search about it. "The Beginning of the End" is 25 minutes of echo-laden industrial synth + guitar psychedelia, sound collage and power electronics bits released around 1984 to 1985. It was recorded much earlier and Justin found the reel-to-reel and put it out.
Confirmed by Andy Swan (Final, Khost) who ran the label with Broadrick and recommended the artist name FERN. Even he hadn't heard this in 35 years...
