Roan instructs a trade of shifts so Esje can join him on patrol. His conversation with Rineike is still fresh in his mind from last night as they walk in companionable silence. Over the past year or so, he's gotten to know the younger wolf better, and he's seen her grow stronger. So it's only fair for him to have this conversation with her, regardless of the fact that she's been reunited with Cas. "Tell me," he begins in norse, cutting a glance to her as they walk. "Everyone is telling you what to do one way or another. I have my thoughts but I want to know yours," Roan says, a slight smile on his lips as he nods at her. "What do you want your role within our pack to be? How do you want to be seen?" Someone's daughter, kept in a tower? Or as a warrior like their fiercest valkyries? @wilddwcrds

Being reunited with his sister and much of their pack has been a blessing from the gods. And a change of pace for all. But he's grateful to have Rineike by his side where she belongs, helping him lead their pack. "Hva sa du om løpeturene igjen?" Without thought, he sends his axe sailing through the air. It embeds itself in the forehead of one soldier with a spray of blood. "Duck!" He shouts, just as he swings his sword, bringing it across the neck of the older soldier before they can pull the trigger of their gun. Roan takes a quick glance at the wolf, nodding at him as he reclaims his bloodied axe. "Can you fight?" He asks, crouching to pick up the discarded gun with some disdain. Roan doesn't even wait for an answer, shoving it into the wolf's arms. "You will cover me but if you shoot me. I will kill you." @waterfallswords

"We will succeed tonight," he affirms, expertly twisting the sharpened weapon in his hand. "If we all do our part." He looks to the other wolf, a smirk of amusement tugging at the corner of his otherwise set mouth. "One survivor." Roan repeats, pointing the blade at Loki. "Zolang ze maar kunnen praten, maakt het mij niet uit in welke staat ze verkeren." It's permission, allowing the wolf to be exactly what he is, so long as Roan gets what he wants. Answers.
