Clan Overview: Roamingclan
Summary: No ties but our kin no borders but the strength of our paws
A proud clan fiercely devoted to its nomadic lifestyle, Roamingclan doesn’t put much faith in Moonclan or religion, but rather believes strongly in independence and how the choices of individuals shape the clan as a whole. Everyone participates in everything they are capable of whenever possible, and apprentices are often challenged quite early to think on more complex and mature levels when problem solving and engaging in complicated discussions of right, wrong, gray areas, ethics, one-or-the-other choices, and laws with clan elders and the Keeper. Often slighted as being just a step away from ‘loners’ with the unique nature of their clan functioning, they tend to send insults boomranging back with their own passionate and cutting remarks. They don’t like to get into others’ affairs, preferring to stick very much to themselves and their clanmates. They often are scornful and mocking of inter-clan disputes, seeing it as time being wasted with pointless aggressions rather than being put towards better things. Of course, they rarely bother to suggest what their neighbors could do instead; they just like to watch and comment, not engage. As they put it, ‘if you want to parent, you have kits’.
Appearance: Small, Swift, and Smart
Lean and lithe, reminiscent of Hillclan, they lack the thicker fur of their neighbors. Despite this, they always seem to have a scruffy appearance, with tattered ears, numerous nicks and scars and rumpled and dusty fur. Long-legged and large-pawed with small ears and long tails, they’re made for running, climbing, and agility, and their large chests and light-weight builds make them both swift and enduring.
They tend towards red and brown hues, always seeming dusty and dull. Dilute is rather rare among them, and silver and gold unheard of, though chocolate or cinnamon crop up on occasion. Their eyes are usually hazel, yellow, or green. Blue eyes are considered remarkably unusual, and come with connotations of retaining kit-like behavior. Long fur is also quite rare, but considered attractive.
Skills: Jack-of-cats
Like Marshclanners, Roamingclanners like to try their paws at whatever they can. They run and hunt through endurance and speed. They hunt through ambush, stalking, and patience. They climb trees, rocks, hills, and cliffs. They work alone and in teams. The one thing they don’t deal with is water; they try to avoid swimming and getting wet if they can.
They are fierce fighters, using speed and agility to help them; they don’t like being locked into closed quarters and definitely pick and choose their battles for a situation that offers them the most advantages. Quite practiced at the art of posturing and screeching to intimidate opponents into backing down, they pride themselves on handling conflict without it coming to claws and teeth.
