Hey, I was wondering, what the show runners consider Lexa's bindi-like headpiece to be? Is it specifically supposed to be appropriating the bindi or is it something completely different? Just curious cause there's definite similarities between hers and a bindi, but some differences too. Just curious because you seem to know a lot about it! Thank you!
ok so alycia spoke about how excited she was about"doing the bindi" when experimenting and choosing lexas outfit
the cast and crew have no respect for actual cultures given how they admitted they were experimenting and they all consider it a bindi anyway (and it literally is, its a dot on the forehead, they can call it a brick and the world will still know it’s a bindi but they’re too white to get it)
plus some writer (probably jorth) tweeted a picture of a Buddha idol and a minion on it or something and captioned it with “inspiration for grounder culture” or something along those lines….so… yeah it’s self admitted appropriation.
