I made some road replacements for myself and I thought I might as well share it in case someone finds my DR useful. This is an edit of Tristan-sims 4t2 Road Default Replacement. I wanted it to match @criquette-was-here Rural Charm (Lush) terrain. There is two versions, one with heavy snow on the sidewalks, and one with minimal (regular amount) of snow. (See above). Choose only one. Road overlays is included. There is one optional overlay set if you choose to have the heavy snow version.
More under the cut!
The original files didn't have snow on the roads in lot view, so I I fixed the road replacement so the textures for light snow shows correctly. I used textures from @tvickiesims's "Heavy Snow DR Texture" for the heavy snow version. I recommend downloading it to match the roads if you pick this version.
I use @dreadpirate's (old) lighting mod so the colours may look different If you use maxis lighting or another lighting mod. The roads look kind of weird in dusk/dawn (especially in spring), but It is an old game and I don't think there is much to do about it. I think It looks better than the original roads though.
Note: Criquette's Rural Charm Overlays is not compatible with the heavy snow overlays (optional). It wont' work properly if you have both.
I use Voeille's "No More Blurriness" for snow replacement in lot mode.
I also added the road textures to the neighbourhood bridges, originally by @tvickiesims / @criquette-was-here. (This is optional).
I have Ultimate Collection on PC. I don't know how many packs is required for this to work. Consider yourself a tester If you don't have all the packs.

Hereās another version of my no-overlay roads - V2!
The textures are more on the semi-realistic side, but turns out it suits a Maxis-match game quite well, just look at the beautiful pictures of my sweet beta-tester, @plumbtales ( ā„ ĶŹ ā„)!
Just as the first version, this DR will replace all the road tiles plus the sidewalk, the sidewalk with paw footprints, the sidewalk with splashes, asphalt car driveway and the road on the stone and big NH bridges:
This time I also replaced the stone bridgeās texture altogether:
There is an issue though, that to my knowledge comes from NVidia cards settings - grey lines on roads (please click on the image to see better) and I have them with Maxis roads too:
I know there is an anti-aliasing fix, but for some reason it never worked for me. The same issue is with my previous roads too but these ones are darker so itās more visible.
Roads in Pleasantview:
I wanted this replacement to be as universal as possible so I made it match all NH terrain replacements I could find (there are 26 in total).
Credits for the original terrains go to @zeussimsā @criquette-was-hereā @curiousbā @siletkasimsā @dramallamadingdangā @peppermint-gingerā @suratan-zirā @driftsatelliteā @simsantoincā and Maxis.
Asphalt and sidewalk textures are from textures.com.
Downloads (everything is compressed and clearly labelled):

Thatās a lot of roads so donāt hesitate to report problems!
Have fun :)
P.S. If youād like to make your own road using terrains that I didnāt include, here are PNGs for you ;)
The Ultimate Road Default Replacement - V2 - Maxis Sidewalks
As requested by @bitedesease, hereās a version of my V2 road replacement but with Maxis sidewalks.
The archive contains a package file with replacement for lot road tiles and big nh and stone bridges and PNGs so you could make your own neighborhood road replacements with any texture youād like (lotskirt folder contains PNGs to replace lotskirt road files specifically. Itās color corrected to match the lot seam as best as possible). You can then use these textures to replace files inside any neighborhood road replacement. If you are not familiar with cc making and wonder how to do that, you can check out my tutorial on texture replacement.
Please note that Maxis sidewalks are very weird and appear darker than other floor tiles so there will be a difference between the road sidewalk part and actual sidewalk tiles (though itās not very noticeable if you donāt put extra tiles close to the road):
Iāve already noticed this behavior when first making my road replacement but have no idea why itās happening and how to fix that, Iāve checked everything at this point.
I only tested the lot road tiles file (which is compressed) so please report any problems or inconsistencies and Iāll fix them.
The Ultimate Road Default Replacement (No Overlay Needed)
Yes, you read that right: itās a default replacement which not only replaces roads in neighborhood view but also ALL THE ROAD TILES in lot view! Yay!
It is a huge hi-res replacement that will liberate you from putting road overlays on all lots in your neighborhoods.
Technical stuff:
(Below are the things that were a revelation to me personally. If you already knew that - thatās great!)
To avoid placing of overlays this replacement had to be extremely maxis match. This means that the terrain part must be visible on all roads and that only short dashes or full lines could be created in the middle of the road.
As you might probably know, the road in lot view is composed of multiple floor tiles. The cental ādashā tiles are floors with the dashes drawn all the way to the edge of the tile, itās not centered. In neighborhood view however, road pieces are much bigger and allow centering of the middle dashes as they are painted over. Because of this they would never align with lot edge.
What Maxis did to resolve this is that they centered the dashes on neighborhood roads and then slightly shifted them for tiles seen from lot view (these are lot skirt roads and they do not share textures). The problem with that is neighborhood roads or lot skirt roads can be flipped 180 degrees by the game and in this case the dashes will never align.
Yes, Maxis dashes are wonky :
So I had to choose: either I accept no alignment on nh road pieces (between the junction of different pieces like straight and angle, straight and end etc.) or no strict alignement between lot and nh edge.
I chose the second. So there will always be a slight shift of alignment for middle dashes on the edge of a lot. It doesnāt bother me that much, this is just the kind of compromise you have to make in this game.
Turned out it was not the only weird thing Maxis did to their roads. They also edited the color of lot skirt roads to make it warmer and made them more narrow (you can also see the shift in middle dashes Iāve talked about previously):
In my opinion they did this to compensate the difference in lighting between neighborhood and lot without modifying the TXMTs of road floor tiles. This is the reason why there is always a difference between NH and lot view roads, sometimes even with overlays.
So I had to do some more Photoshop witchcraft to make it work the right way colorwise.
Some screenshots (no editing except cropping, Maxis lighting):

What to download:
This replacement comes in two parts - lot road replacement (which replaces all 30 (yes yes) road tiles for lot view roads) and neighborhood road replacement (which replaces nh view roads and lot skirt roads). You must download both parts!
Lot road replacement also includes a new sidewalk with paws, a sidewalk with puddles/splashes and an asphalt driveway to match the rest (all three are default replacements):

@criquette-was-hereā originally made a nh bridge road replacement to fit their rural charm roads here so I thought it would be a good addition to this replacement. And then I also did a stone bridge nh deco replacement (the one that can be seen in Veronaville):

Textures for this road replacement were extracted from the Sims 3 by auntielynds and shared in this thread on MTS, I used the sidewalk and asphalt textures.
Special thanks go to @hypersalineā who once told me about the way roads can be replaced in lot view which led to this whole replacement idea.
In case you would like to have access to all road floor tiles I replaced (for exemple, for building purposes) in build mode, I suggest following this tutorial to unlock them. They wonāt show up in catalog but if you use the eyedropper tool anywhere on lot road, youāll see all of them.
If you are using your own terrain replacement not shared anywhere and would like to use my roads - feel free to ask and I will send you the PNG files I made. And if you use a replacement that I didnāt include in the list - just tell me and I will try to add it.
UPDATE:
Fixed some lot skirt road pieces reverting back to default in light and heavy snow. Iām sorry for the inconvenience, please redownload your neighborhood road replacements!
Also added a new lush terrain road to fit the replacement by Suratan Zir.
UPDATE 2:
Following Anonās request, added road replacements to fit Maxisā original terrains. And I also managed to get it to work with no quality loss for roads so yay for that!
UPDATE 3:
Added a missed puddle/splatter floor replacement to match the sidewalk. Please redownload lot road replacement if you want it to show up.
