Paschal is a changeling currently wearing his human skin. At some point in his story he gets found out and a fire mage is send to exterminate him (in this world, changelings are close descendants from fey and are considered highly dangerous, and thus a kill on sight), but he manages to make a narrow escape. He hides away on a ship that is leaving port to sail halfway across the world to a continent that is populated by a quite large and strict species that call themselves the dovikai :)

Here's a few of their kind

Paschal had been having a sort of on-and-of one night stands kind of relationship with one of em, and since the port and his homeland wasn't safe anymore he decided to flee to a country where he only knew one person. Anyway, once there the guy took him in, their bond grew (theyre so toxic <3 <3) and Paschal started heading to the woods to change into one of them to experience a semi-normal life again. He dressed up in his friend's grandma's clothes, to appear as a woman and hide his easily recognizable face, and simply spend his days wandering the markets and library.
