Whenever I publish Ranchers and Ruins, I plan to make it clear in the game description page that not only is this game written by a queer person but that it should be played by queer people. This is not me saying I don't want cis het allo neurotypical people to not play it at all.
But I want this game to encourage comfort and make a safe space for those that just want to work in a simple town, with their simple tasks. I also want it to be a game that allows therapeutic RPing for those who don't get to have a simple life for them.
And you know what? You absolutely don't have to be queer to struggle in this life, but you gotta know that the world has a lot of people in power that make being queer extremely more of a struggle than it should be. It's hateful, it's fascistic, and it's unacceptable.
So stay strong my queer family. And for those who really want to be an ally to this community, there are two great things you can do.
1) Listen, like actually fucking listen to queer people.
2) Use your voice to make ours louder.
