Atticus, another important character to me. I decided to properly draw her. She is a very dear character to me, and I teared up a little in the midst of creating this art piece (as corny as that may be). I could say more, but that can be a separate post for now.

After the long wait, I hope this side story is enjoyable! I definitely put a lot of my heart and soul into this! So please enjoy!!!

With the end of the main story and the few rntr side stories coming to an end in the coming months, a new stage for these characters has officially begun to develop.

To those who were around during the time of the official RNTR account know that I've briefly discussed the novelization of my beloved passion project in the coming years. This plan is still happening, and starting now, I will be working on its development through these coming years!! Following the footsteps of many authors who have turned their fanfiction into their own original work, I will be doing the same.

This indie project will go from being Re-Nightmare: The Retelling to The Masked Killer.

Now I will go through some questions regarding it here on this post!! If I don't answer something, send an ask and I will attend to it as quickly as i can! ^^

What changes should be expected?

As TMK is an work that will be separate from renightmare are a whole, there will be some obvious changes. Such as the name of the state: Treelight, some important character name changes, slight lore additions, outfit changes, and complete character design overhaul.

Examples of key name changes to occur:

Kao -> Caleb

Shai -> Olivia

Shia - Ollie

Howaito - Howard (subject to change bec ngl the name is ass)

Alfred and Mystery/Jeremy's names will remain the exact same along with a few others. All oc names will remain the same!

It is also important to note that all the characters will be humans or supernatural beings such as: Angels, Demons and Reapers.

More deviations are to be expected, and i hope all of them are good!

What is TMK about?

Exactly the same as RN:TR's plot, with very few changes.

What is the rating? Is it still 17+?

No. It will be marked firmly as 18+. But fear not, all content warnings are the exact same as rn:tr's, the only exception is there might be more violence and abuse tactics shown.

Content warnings should be expected on the first page like I have seen some authors do.

Where will it be published?

Unless a better option comes along, I will publish it on Amazon first, as many book stores will not permit novels that are as violent and graphic as mine. Hopefully I can see it on store shelves one day.

What is the genre?

TMK is aimed to be a Psychological Horror with Splatterpunk elements.(Splatterpunk is defined: "....transgressive, addressing social or political ills, not pulling punches, and pushing the boundaries...." (Keene, Hartmann, Fangoria) as well as often including extreme violence and the like.

Time period?

Either in the 1980s like RN:TR or the early 2000s! I'm still deciding.

When will it be published?

Since RN:TR was completed in 2 years. I estimate that creating TMK could take 3-4 years/2029-2030 to create if plans go correctly. Unless censorship goes up the roof, but I believe that won't be the case.

This doesn't mean I'll be radiosilent about TMK! I will continously post updates, character references, answer asks about it, and publish art and concepts! So everyone will be kept in the know and be able to see everything progress in real time!

Will you be posting these updates in the renightmare tag?

Heavens no. With TMK being a novel separate from Renightmare, I will avoid doing that. That would be weird. Only this post and a couple others will be marked in the renightmare tag, otherwise any updates will be saved for other accurate tags! For the couple posts, the tag will only be used to reach any original fans of RN:TR so they know where future content goes.

Why are you turning this into a novel?

I have grown attached to the characters and lore I have developed. It feels like a disgrace to myself if I sinply kept it as a fanfiction when it has potential to grow! Turning my passion project into a novel is a dream, and I know it will be even better than ever.

Are you worried about copyright from youknowwho?

His broke, shriveled up ass likely won't even be able to finish doll eye 2 by 2029, and by then I'd have MY story fully copyrighted and protected. So if it tries legal action I'll be getting the last laugh. If by some circumstance he manages to do anything, my bitch ass is getting a lawyer. Or something like that I dunno. I doubt anything will happen, but it is worth mentioning.

How much money do you plan to sell the book for?

I hardly care about money as i anticipate having a longterm job or two to earn income. I love free or cheap items, and I understand how harsh the economy is. While books are raising in price, I do not want to follow that trend. A simple fee of $11 is all I will charge for the full book unless dire circumstances occur.

What is going to happen to RN:TR?

While RN:TR is reaching total completion, I still plan to make artistic content about it for a while. I love RN:TR and even during production I'd love to discuss it.

It is important to note that I plan to keep RN:TR up permanently online even after The Masked Killer is published. I refuse to take it down. If people don't end up liking the novel, at least others still have the original fanfiction to fall to. It will be also a way to see improvements or changes! Either way, archiving is my passion and RN:TR will remain.

Why that name?

The Masked Killer; aka; Mystery/Jeremy is the catalyst for the whole story, indirectly or directly affecting society. He is the reason for the terror and suffering of others. The story in turn is centered not just about Caleb and Alfred but the society as a while and how it deals with this manipulative enigmatic serial killer who has quite literally broken families apart.

Thst is my reasoning for the name and it holds significant meaning. Mystery is not the main character whatsoever, but his actions effect others horrendously. this story tells us all about it.
