âyouâre gettinâ the hang of this, jiyul-ssi.â
there are some things that aren't meant to be seen in the dark. a glint of an unblinking eye. shadows that shift. the way a mouth twists, stretches wide at the corners. but the flame from his lighter flickers over the scratched up slate concrete-slab floor of the basement, and the smirk that pulls across yejunâs face is one of cruel satisfaction, clear as day.
it's not everyday that jaeger territory is this accommodating, and to an alpha, no less. then again, it's not everyday yejun is witness to this either: golden boy with a silver spoon, all pretenses blown out in a curl of smoke, hanging on and high by the last letter. floating way above the ceiling rafters by now, heâs sure of it, because they hadnât been only puff-puff and passing.
under the dingy white lighting of the single bare bulb that swings slight above them, their surroundings appear to shift ominously at angles that seem to make the room slide, overexposed, then cast over in an ink spell. this doesnât bother him. what does is that this is nowhere the mark he usually hits.
and then he remembers. instinctively, his hand reaches over to his pocket.Â
by now the number of rules theyâve broken must total to an impossible amount. whatâs the harm in breaking one more?Â
âhey.â yejun nudges him. âwanna try something different?âÂ
