Rising Luminaries Scene Drabble 1
I got some encouragement from a moot so I'm sharing one of these scene drafts I had in mind for the story. I'll be seeing how this goes before I share the others or the one I have for my Modern-day Demigods AU
"Oh no, no, no, no..!" Sun muttered in panicked rush as he tried to get to their current dressing room quickly. Dodging and weaving past the crew on his way there.
He hadn't meant to spend so long signing autographs and answering questions. It didn't help that a particular fan began to gush about them– Well, him anyway. It didn't sound like they attended the night shows yet. He was a bit grateful for that, not that Moon didn't deserve affectionate praise, too, of course! But he was starting to get a little tired of their fans asking for when the next night show was going to be. He was happy for Moonie, he really was, but it would be nice if the day time fans spoke to him more about his performances too. He was doing his best to give them stellar shows too despite–
Shhrk!
The solar celebrity felt his rays start to retract one by one. His flame like lashes shifting to winged ones. Moon would be stirring awake soon. He winced as he tried to fight it, their door was so close!
"Excuse me!"
"Pardon me!"
"Coming through!"
He whipped their dressing room door open and ducked inside, slamming it shut behind him. He sighed after flinching, he hadn't meant to do that so hard. As he slid down the door, his counterpart took over.
Moon blinked a few times as he came to. This wasn't the normal spot Sun usually set him for their current room. He gradually got up off the floor, and stumbled a moment before catching himself. Puzzled, he looked down.
A low frustrated hiss came from his voice box. Stilettos, and a short, poofy, orange dress.
"I-I'm sorry Moonie, I lost track of time and I–" Sun was still present; he cut his brother off with a wave of his hand and a sigh.
"Just stop. I need to get ready. You know we're on a tight schedule Sun."
Though neither spoke again after that right away, he could feel his brother's guilt and tried to send back reassurance while he changed his clothes. As long as it didn't happen again and he got out on stage on time, they'll be okay. Fazbear Records won't have their heads.
Not if he can help it.
"Rest while you can, Sunny. You've had a long day. Plus, I overheard our 'manager' say they've got some new songs and routine for you."
"Ah! Alright, have a stellar show, brother!" A mix of somber excitement and minor frustration was felt after that.
He couldn't agree more with the feelings.
Sure, getting new songs and new choreography and new clothes and new props and new whatever– Was nice. Genuinely enriching when they were first starting out. He liked the aerial hoops and wire the most.
Now all it ever does is help break up the pace of this loop they're stuck in.
He sighed while he attached the light up leg wraps to his legs, a quick glance at the clock told him he needed to hurry up.
If only they had never signed that contract together. Though he doubts they really had a choice over that either considering Fazbear Records also made them. They'd probably tweak their code to be more… Intrigued? Willing? Obedient? Whatever, he didn't want to think about what the company would have done had they first declined. They should have both properly read it too instead of believing them. Those humans.
He could hear the muffled buzz of the crowd's chatter. Their fans.
He had to get out to them soon before they started fussing.
He looked himself over in the full-body mirror. Spaghetti strap v-neck crop top, high-waisted shorts, and slim tie-up boots. The mini sun bracelet tinked against his wrist as he walked over and pulled on the sheer, white, moon and star themed hooded cape that was set out for him.
Their fans made this unending cycle more bearable. He knew Sun certainly enjoyed receiving gifts and small trinkets from them. Reading the adoration in their fan mail was nice too, even if it was written to 'Lumi', their shared stage name.
He took a deep, metaphorical breath while he grasped the doorknob. A small smile gracing his sharp toothed mouth. Do it for them.
He opened their door and left the dressing room, gently closing it behind him.
'Lumi' had a show to perform.
