Right Kind of Wrong - Chapter 5
Hey! Â Itâs been awhile. Â Real life and a new project have taken over my life. Â Donât worry though, this story will be completed! Â Here is chapter five...things get, interesting :)

Felicity huffed as she threw another shirt on the growing pile of discarded clothes that were building up on her bed.
âIt's not going to matter what you wear,â Iris told her with a laugh. âHeâs not going to care.â
âHe might not care,â Felicity answered. âBut I do. And nothing is good enough.â
âWell something is going to have to be good enough. It's not like you have time to go shopping.â
âUgh!â
âWhat are your plans? Maybe thatâll help narrow down your clothing choices.â
âWe didn't like make official plans,â Felicity admitted with a sigh. âThere is a new restaurant downtown that Cooper mentioned, uh, Table Salt, I think.â
âReally? How did Cooper get a reservation there?â
Felicity shrugged, âI'm not sure he did.â
âThen I doubt youâll be going there,â Iris chuckled. âI've heard there is like a six month wait to get a reservation. It's so impossible.â
âOh,â Felicity replied with a laugh. âThere is always that Chinese place we like. It doesn't really matter to me. I'm justâŠâ
âNervous?â
âNo, not really. I'm just ready to get it over with I guess. The build up is overrated.â
Felicity turned from the closest to Iris and flung the sweater in her hand around. âGod, that's...horrible, isn't it? Just wanting to it over with? I feel bad for CooperâŠâ
âOh yes, I'm sure heâs so upset about that.â
The sarcasm was thick in Irisâs voice and Felicity whacked her with the sweater she was still holding.
âHey!â Iris cried as she protect her computer. âI'm just saying that heâs not complaining...so it's pointless to feel weird about it.â
âTrue.â Â
âBut you shouldn't put any pressure on yourself about tonight. If it doesn't happenâŠâ
âIt's happeningâŠâ
âJust...FelicityâŠâ
âI'm ready Iris,â she insisted with a nod as she pulled her favorite black dressy sweater over her head. âI am and it's happening tonight. Once I leave the room will be yours for the night.â
âOkay,â Iris answered with a grin. âYou've got everything you need. You won't need to come back to the room for a toothbrush or condom?â
Felicity shook her head as she slipped her feet into a sparkly pair of pink flats. She slipped her favorite earrings in her ears. âEverything I'll need tonight is already in my purse. Â I promise I'll be out of your hair soon.â
âNo worries,â Iris assured her with a grin. âBarry has a late lab tonight anyways, he won't be around for awhile.â
âWhat are you guys doing tonight?â
âProbably studying,â Iris answered. âAnd fucking. Definitely fucking.â
Felicity rolled her eyes and grabbed her phone when it went off. Cooper was downstairs in the lobby waiting for her. She checked herself in the mirror and typed a quick message back before turning to Iris. âWell have fun. I'll see you sometime tomorrow.â
âHave fun! Make sure he makes you come before he does!â
âIris!â
âFigured a little advice wouldn't be a bad thing.â
âYou're as bad as Sara! Â She was giving me all sorts of unsolicited sex advice this week.â
âHerâs was probably a little crazyâŠâ
âDuh,â Felicity answered with a chuckle. âOkay, I really have to go. Coopâs waiting downstairs.â
âSee you tomorrow!â
Felicity waved goodbye as she grabbed her purse from her desk and headed towards the elevator at the end of the hall. She greeted a few friends as she went by and promised a classmate theyâd go over the reading before the next class before she slipped into the elevator and pressed the button for the lobby. She fluffed her long blonde hair as she examined her appearance in the reflective surface of the wall and took a deep breath as the doors opened to the lobby.
The communal lobby of Felicityâs dorm was buzzing with normal Saturday night activity. She nodded hello to some acquaintances in the lounge section and headed towards the door. The cool October air hit her and she pulled her jacket tighter around her body. Her eyes roamed the parking area and she paused when she saw Cooper talking to a girl from her building.
Helena had a reputation around campus for being a bit overzealous when it came to men. Felicity paused to observe their interaction and she couldn't help but think that Helena looked pissed.
She walked slowly up to them and overheard the last bit of Helenaâs tirade towards her boyfriend who looked impasse towards the whole thing.
â...you're such a jackass Cooper, I can't believe I thought youâŠâ
âHey Cooper,â Felicity greeted as she plastered a smile on her face. âHelena.â
âOh, FelicityâŠâ Helena greeted with a smirk. âI didn't know you and Cooper were a thing.â
âWe are,â Felicity answered with a shrug and a smile. âWeâve been dating for a couple months now.â
Helena looked between them with a glare. âHow nice. Well...I should be going. Have a good night.â
Felicity nodded as she let Cooper lead her to his car, an old BMW that he loved more than anything. Felicity always laughed, but he was incredibly particular about his car.
âSo what was that all about?â Felicity questioned as soon as they pulled away from the curb.
âWhat was what about?â
âHelena calling you a jackass and looking ridiculously upset.â
âOh that,â Cooper answered with a shrug. âIt was just a physics thing.â
âPhysics?â
âYeah,â Cooper continued. âWe got paired up on this stupid lab thing and she was not thrilled with my section.â
âOhâŠâ
Cooper glanced at her quickly before turning his attention back to the road and slipping his hand into hers. âTold you it was stupid.â
âYeahâŠâ
When they pulled up to a stoplight Cooper leaned over and pressed his lips against hers gently. âYou look gorgeous babe. I'm looking forward to tonight.â
Felicity beamed at him, âthanks Coop. And me too.â
---
âI still don't understand how you got a reservation here,â Felicity commented as they walked into the new, upscale restaurant in downtown Starling City. âIris said there is like a six month wait for a reservation.â
âI know a guy,â Cooper replied with a chuckle. âI wanted to see what all the hype was about.â
âYou know a guy?â
âIt's like a friend of a friend of a friend kind of situation,â Cooper explained with a smile. âThatâs all.â
âWell this is pretty awesome,â Felicity said as she looked around the new restaurant. âThanks for bringing me.â
Cooper leaned in and placed a kiss against her lips. âYou bet. Â We have a little wait before our reservation, want to get a drink at the bar?â
âSure,â Felicity agreed quickly and let him lead her to the bar by their linked hands. They ordered their drinks, a glass of red wine for Felicity and an IPA for Cooper. They chatted about classes and roommates and nonsense until the pager Cooper was given, buzzed letting them know their seats were ready. After getting a refill on drinks they headed towards their table. âIâve heard everything is good here,â Cooper told her as they browsed the menu. Â âNothing but rave reviews.â
âAre you sure about this?  The prices are a littleâŠâ
âDonât worry about that,â Cooper insisted with a shrug.  âIâve got it.â âCooperâŠâ
âTrust me Felicity,â Cooper assured her and grabbed her hand and squeezed. Â âJust enjoy tonight, okay?â
âOkay.â
Felicity relaxed and picked up the menu again to look it over. Â She felt a gaze on her and she looked up at Cooper with a smile but he was looking down at his phone, typing furiously. Â She couldnât help but glance around the spacious, buzzing room with interest trying to see if she could find what had made her feel like she was being watched.
And she found it.
In a pair of familiar, sparkling blue eyes.
Oliver.
His eyes were on her and his gaze was intense. Â It made her fidget in her seat which caught Cooperâs attention. Â âYou okay babe?â
Felicity looked over at him startled and took a long drink of her wine before answering, Â âOh, Iâm fine. Â Have you decided on what youâre going to order?â
She glanced back over to Oliver and his lips were pressed together in a tight line. Â He looked, upset, almost and Felicity flashed an equally tight smile his way in greeting. Â His jaw flexed, his lips not parting and his eyes not leaving hers. Â It was overwhelming.
He wasnât alone at the table and after some movement from his dinner date, Felicity finally looked at the goddess he was dining with, whose skin-tight black dress and sky-high fuck me red heels sent the message perfectly to Felicity. Â He was on a date. Â With an age-appropriate woman who looked bored as hell as she typed away on her phone. Â Felicity chewed on her bottom lip in anxiousness.
âI think Iâm going to get a steak, you?â
âThere is a cajun pasta dish Iâm eying,â Felicity answered, after tearing her gaze away from Oliverâs. Â âI just have to make sure there are no nuts or peanut oil.â
Cooper turned back towards his phone. Â âMake sure you ask the waiter.â
âI willâŠâ
âGood.â
âAre you going to spend all night on your phone?â Felicity asked, her irritation edging out.
âWhat?â
âYouâve been on your phone since we sat down,â Felicity told him firmly. Â âI had hoped tonight would be...special, I guess. Â I know thatâs cliche.â
âItâs not,â Cooper replied with a sigh.  âIâm sorry babe, youâre right.  I havenât been very attentive and Iâm sorry about thatâŠâ
âI justâŠâ
âHello,â the waiter said as he approached the table. Â âIâm Alex and Iâll be your server tonight. Â Are you ready to order?â
Cooper looked over to Felicity who, with a terse smile, nodded. Â Cooper turned back towards the waiter, âIt looks like we are.â
âGreat,â Alex replied and pulled out his notebook. Â âWhat can I get for you tonight.â
They ordered their food and waited until the waiter walked away to resume the conversation. Â Felicity was thankful that Cooperâs phone stayed untouched on the table. Â She allowed herself to fall back into a happy conversation until her phone buzzed in her bag. Â She pulled it out and kept it hidden under the table as she checked the message.
Are you spending the night with him tonight?
Felicity froze. Â
The audacity of that stupid man. Â She barked out a strained laugh.
âFelicity?â Cooper questioned, âEverything all right?â
She nodded, âYeah, sorry. Â It was Sara just complaining about our boss. Â Apparently he knocked over an entire pan of the pastries and made her pick them up. Â Sheâs screaming expletives at me about him.â Â
âItâs fine,â Cooper assured her with a chuckle. Â âThat prick needs to be fired. Â You complain about him all the time.â
âHeâll never be fired,â Felicity complained with a shrug. Â âBut thankfully I wonât be working there for too much longer.â
âRight,â Cooper agreed with a smile. Â âYou start your internship soon.â
âWell, soonish.â
âYouâll do great.â
âThanks, Iâm excited.â
Felicityâs phone buzzed again and she opened it quickly. Â It was another message from Oliver.
Are you?
Felicity gripped her tightly, her annoyance shining through causing Cooper to watch her curiously. Â
âBabe?â
âIâm fine,â Felicity replied automatically. Â âI just need to reply to Sara before she blows up my phone more.â
âGo for it.â
Maybe Iâve already spent the night with him. Â Maybe weâre just breaking to refuel between a long and intense fucking marathon Dr. Queen.
His answer was almost instantaneous. Â
You should be careful Miss Smoak. Â
Felicity tucked her phone back in her purse and finished off her glass of wine in a swallow. Â Cooper watched her carefully.
âYouâre sure youâre okay?â he questioned. Â âYou look a little flushed.â
âIâm fine.â
âOkay,â he replied. Â âIâm going to run to the restroom before the food gets here. Â Iâll be right back.â
âSounds good.â
Felicity watched as Cooper disappeared down the hallway leading to the bathrooms and then her eyes moved over to Oliverâs table, only he was no longer sitting there. Â His dinner partner was still at the table in all of her appeared indifference. Â
âAnother glass of wine,â Alex said as he set down the glass in front of her. Â âAnd your dinner will be out shortly.â
âI didnât order thisâŠâ
âYour date did,â the waiter informed her before he slipped away. Â Felicity eyed the glass and then took another sip of wine. Â She definitely needed some food soon before all the wine she was drinking went straight to her head. Â She watched Oliverâs date as she sipped on her martini and continued to check her phone. Â
Alex deposited their meals to the table and Felicity watched the hallway waiting for Cooper who had been gone for much longer than she had anticipated. Â She sipped her wine, deciding to wait until Cooper returned before she started her meal.
When she glanced towards the bathrooms again she was surprised to see Oliver, not Cooper, coming from the hallway, his face tight. Â He walked purposely towards his table, but instead of sitting down to rejoin his date he pulled out some bills from his wallet and tossed them on the table while he spoke quietly to the woman he was with. Â Oliver lead her out of the restaurant without looking back in Felicityâs direction once. Â
Felicity took another gulp of wine and then munched on a crouton from her side salad. Â Felicity studied her phone, scrolling through her facebook feed when she felt someone in her personal space and looked up with a smile, expecting Cooper to be there to steal a kiss before he took his seat.
She was surprised to say the least when she found herself looking into Oliverâs eyes instead.
âOliver...what? Â Where is Cooper?â
âYour date had to leave,â he informed her sternly. Â âGet up, Iâm driving you home.â
