All she remembers was that one minute they were basking than the next second she was being driven by one of their managers, so they can take Jiwon to the hospital. She could still vividly remember, how earlier that day they were giving away flyers to passerby and asking them to watch their performance. While occasionally huddling up from the cold wind during their break. Even then, she could already see some of her fellow trainees looking a little bit pale.
Petting Jiwon’s shoulder, she whispered softly to the older girl, “I wish you would have told us you weren’t feeling okay...” she sighs, “maybe we could have convinced them for you to pass this on.” Gesturing towards their manager. Although funny thing about that is, she has a clear idea of why Jiwon wouldn’t want to pass up such a golden opportunity. If Naeun was in a similar situation, sadly she would have done the same thing.

♥ KT ENTERTAINMENT’S NOVEMBER EVALUATIONS: KT BOYS PUBLIC PERFORMANCE AT HAN RIVER PARK
Seoul’s November cold is enough to have Hyunjin’s jaw clenched, biting down hard to stop the constant chattering of his teeth as he shoves his hands deep into his winter coat.
A particularly harsh wind pushes a violent shudder down Hyunjin’s spine and he burrows deeper into the padded outerwear, resembling a fluffed bird during the winter. Any reprieve that motion might have given him lasts mere seconds as a girl splits off from a small group nearby, making her way over to the trainee and shyly requesting a hand warmer. The girl’s friends giggle while Hyunjin fishes out a handwarmer for the girl, pressing it into the now flushed cheeks girl’s palm with a small smile and waving as she quickly shuffles back to her friends.
Briefly, Hyunjin wonders how it’s possible the girl can survive this weather wearing a skirt, already finding the cold too much with his limited exposure.
He’s met with a few other groups of giggling girls during his time there, appropriately greeting them with a smile and sending them on their way after they receive their hand warmers, telling them to be careful on their route home and to drink something warm quickly. One of them shows Hyunjin a saved photo on their phone – a saved photo of him that had circled around almost a year ago after he was caught sleeping on an early morning train and he’s glad that the cold had already reddened his cheeks so his embarrassment doesn’t show as much. At some point it occurs to Hyunjin that some of these girls are flirting with him but in the end, there isn’t much for him to do about it all (isn’t much he knows how to do with in the first place).
There seems to be a trend with Hyunjin completing his major promotions as a trainee during the winter. January saw him performing on stage at Jeju, and just a bit later standing in a forest in the middle of winter, taking photos wearing a pair of shorts for his introduction as a member of KTrookies. The retrospective makes him all the more thankful for his current position, even as he’s taking his coat off to perform, at least he isn’t performing in shorts. Although, perhaps it’s because of his previous experience that the cold doesn’t get to him while he’s performing. Focused on the performance itself, the cold ends up being the last thing he’s considering while going through their set.
And he’s thankful that he can perform like this, truly focused on doing his best and not the external environment off the stage.
Nearing the end of their twelve-hour shift outside, Hyunjin is startled to find his mother at the venue, gloved hands rubbing over his shoulders in an attempt to produce some extra heat for her son. He’s quick to fuss over her just as much as she fusses over him, tugging the last of his own hand warmers out from his pockets and pressing them into hers; already knowing that her presence alone is enough to get him through the remaining cold. Their schedules rarely tend to overlap these days (more because of Hyunjin than his mother or father) so he’s happy to see her, excited to show her a bit of his performance even if they had already wrapped up the official performances. Eventually, at Hyunjin’s insistence that she heads back home to properly rest, she does eventually depart, tucking a few wisps of hair behind his ears and signing one last, ‘Mommy loves you very much’.
He, of course, returns the sentiment almost immediately.
there was some disappointment on yeji's side for this month's eval-- her and jinsoul had wanted to do the convex song but regardless of that. at least she could do the eval with the older and the other female trainees in trc. the males and females were separated this month but that didn't stop her from taking a glance at the boys during her break.
her eyes went wide however when she tried to glance inside and instead, one of the males came stumbling out the door. wheezing.
her eyes immediately widened-- then she felt a little concerned, wondering what kind of choreo that the boys were made to learn. in the background, she could hear global icon's come back home ringing. yeji looked at the older male in disbelief for a moment--
she knew who he was but she hadn't really spoken do him after she had joined trc, "dongmin-ssi?" she said, overly formal since she wasn't entierly sure how she should address him, "are you alright?"
with trainees falling sick left and right, zhengting isn’t taking any chances. he dons a face mask, chugs ginger water like no one’s business, and most importantly, keeps his distance from anyone sniffling. it works for the first few days, but as the weeks trickle by, it becomes easier said than done. the choreography they’re having to learn for this month’s evaluation leaves little room for independence, and since zhengting has a rather brilliant streak of being annoyingly opinionated when it comes to dance, it’s nearly impossible for him to stay away.
let’s take lunch, the dance instructor says.
“but we haven’t finished the chorus.”
somewhere off to the side, someone blows their nose. the dance instructor peers over at them. we’ll finish after lunch.
zhengting bites his tongue. it’s nearly the end of the month, and they haven’t perfected the choreography for their third and final selection. to him, that should be the priority over lunch and breaks, but clearly he’s in the minority here, seeing how quickly everyone disperses at the instructor’s dismissal. lips pressed, he reaches down and snags his thermal mug. and after taking a sip of his ginger water, he notices @rktaeyang, their newest addition. aside from quick introductions, they haven’t spoken much.
“taeyang, right?” he recognizes the other from the latest season of the mgas as one of the best dancers. it’s no surprise that nova has recruited him. “don’t think we’ve had the opportunity to get to know each other.” he tilts his head toward the door. “lunch on me? there’s a really nice cafe nearby.”
moon bin is about to throw a fit. this month has been awful! for him, mostly because of the sudden drop in temperatures, but also because he feels overworked. too overworked! they’re killing him!
“---it’s legal murder!” he exclaims, flopping down on the training room floor. “practicing for nearly fourteen hours a day. they’re just wearing us down so our brains will all turn to mush, and then they’ll be able to control us! wahh, can you imagine? me, a royal zombie?”
he tilts his head back a bit to look at @rklisa, his lower lip jutting out in an ever-familiar binnie pout.
“we deserve a break.” and then suddenly, a brilliant idea comes to mind: “let’s do a weekend trip to busan. we can go to the beach, and order milmyeon for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.” and for once, they wouldn’t have to hide! or well, maybe hide a little . . since they’re both public trainees, and surely the last mga season is still fresh on everyone’s mind.

this months evaluation was one that feel right in line with what doyum was use to in life. having spent a good two years before even becoming a trainee by busking, hearing that they were going to be busking this month filled him with so much confidence. he half wished he could post something about it so his fans would know that he is going to be busking especially since it’s been so long since they have seen him, though he supposes he could always make a post on the official orion post about something vague.
regardless, he was going to be back in one of his old stomping grounds. sinchon was a place he had busked before and it will be so nice being able to go back there and busk again. “hey hyung, do you think they’ll let us do any solo dances? during the eval i mean.” he questioned the older as the two of them stretched for dance practice. the teen having found himself seated near jongsuk and was taking the time to bother his hyung now. “i learned a new girl group dance recently... it would be fun to get to show it off.”
Eclipse's “Me gustas tu” was a pretty cute song that Luda enjoyed singing. Eclipse's dances however, even for a cute song like this, usually weren't that easy and they would only be dancing for the performances this month. She wasn't too happy about having to learn three different choreographies, but over the past couple months, she came to quite enjoy dancing. And she always enjoyed performing in front of people, so overall she was looking forward to this.
“Good morning,” she greeted the other girl with her usual friendly smile. Practising with someone else was always much more fun than alone, but just the scheduled dance practises weren't quite enough, she felt.
“Have you memorised the choreographies yet?” she asked, worrying how much behind she was compared to everyone else. She wasn't even doing that bad, but she herself couldn't see that. “And how are you holding up?” Luda felt like dance practise was a lot tougher than usual this month and she was glad to have pretty good stamina, but she was sure at least some trainees would struggle with this. Though maybe she was only imagining things, and practise was as difficult as usual.
there’s something very artificial about handing out heat packs to the general public while he’s forced to keep freezing in his simple stage outfit. it’s extremely reminiscent of the artificiality of the hospitality industry he grew up with in his uncle and aunt’s hotel, and while there are definitely people who are glad to just help in any way they can, there are probably an equal amount of those who often just grin and bear it. he’s not exactly sure on which end of the spectrum he falls, but when it’s a couple of hours past noon and he’s still no lost his stride, he personally thinks he falls closer to the former.
an unexpected challenge that comes with trying to keep it genuine in such a scripted facade is finding ways to make each experience unique. it’s all well and good to wish the passersby a nice day and to keep warm, he thinks variety is the spice of life and can make the difference between disinterest and a memorable interaction, which, ultimately, should be the goal.
there’s a brief respite between the throngs of people passing through the area, and doyoung figures he may as well make good use of it and practice a couple of greetings before using it on some unsuspecting stranger. seeing daniel closeby, he figures the younger is a good candidate to gauge reactions, so he saunters over, all confidence and no shame, hand in his pocket to pull out a heat pack to press lightly against daniel’s cheek.
“do you feel that? it’s the warmth i’m giving you from my heart to yours,” he says, an unwavering smile upon his lips and soft look in his eyes. “be careful not to catch a cold.”
