i'm looking through a Swedish textbook I'll be using to teach. and lo and behold, I find this text. a text called "Deadly Fashion".

yep. the first paragraph is about corsets. about how they were tools of oppressing women. about how painful they were, how women couldn’t breathe or move, how they would constantly faint. how they would REMOVE THEIR RIBS TO BE SLIMMER. all for that fashionable slim waist!

I'm fucking livid. Why is this major textbook propagating those stupid, BLATANTLY UNRESEARCHED, fashion history myths? And how tf am I supposed to use this to teach without punching a wall?!

Today was a very Swedish day! I did all the homework in the Övningsbok (book of exercises) and I revised some vocabulary. Having German as one of my native languages really helps with the words and the syntax, but the pronunciation is really hard. You’re supposed to leave out a lot of letters and certain combinations are pronounced totally differently than they look. Hopefully, it will get easier with time and practice!

Although I was really tired from yesterday because I came home fairly late, the view from my library desk kept me alive. After class, I went home and took a nap, because I’m invited to a birthday party. I won’t be able to stay too long because of a work meeting tomorrow. So tonight’s motto will be rather “Party medium hard!” rather than “Party super hard!”.

I samband med  Vad skedde i samband med besök av många personer till fritids utställningen? I samband med en stor del av besöken hade begreppet av fritid blivit känt bland de flesta.

prestera / presterade / presterat Hur kan folk prestera bättre när de kommer tillbaka till arbete? Genom att syssla med fritids aktiviteter som låter en bli friska och hälsosamma 

åka iväg Varför behöver kvinnor åka iväg? För att koppla av och slippa allt hushållsarbete.
