Altra pistola assai famosa, è un altro must dei videogiochi western, dove ricopre il ruolo dell'arma rapidissima da ricaricare. In effetti, questa era molto più veloce nella ricarica delle Colt, visto che era a "top break", ossia si piegava ed apriva in cima, esponendo tutto il tamburo ed eiettando i bossoli esplosi. Era però un sistema assai più delicato del telaio chiuso, quindi non poteva sparare cariche di uguale potenza, perciò il .45 segnato qui non è lo stesso della Colt, ma uno più corto. Dai, torniamo a giocare, visto che questa si può definire la seconda più famosa dopo la Single Action Army, chi mi sa dire almeno un titolo, gioco o film dove compare? Vi do un indizio, c'è una serie dove la chiamano sempre "quickshooter". Another really famous handgun, another "must" of western games, where it fills the role of the fast reloading weapon. Questa volta non voglio neanche spiegarvela: la conoscete tutti, è talmente famosa che 140 anni dopo la sua invenzione, la fanno ancora; è quasi impossibile trovare un'opera western dove questo modello non appaia, a volte lo ficcano persino prima che l'avessero ideata: la Colt Peacemaker, la pistola che ha fatto il West! Comunque, il fatto che non "voglia" non significa che non ci siano anche un paio di paroline da spendere, perciò eccovele qua: come potete notare, a differenza di tutte (meno una: il primo che indovina quale sceglie quale arma sarà la prossima che disegnerò) le pistole finora viste, questa ha il telaio chiuso, un sistema più robusto che permetteva di usare cariche più potenti. Inoltre, veniva realizzata con canne di diversa lunghezza: quella che ho mostrato qui è un modello "artillery", quello mediano: più lungo si chiama "cavalry", più corto "quickdraw". Degno di nota il modello "buntline", che si dicesse appartenere al famoso scheriffo Wyatt Earp ed era lungo quasi un metro. Davvero, non serve neanche che vi dica dove compare, stavolta provate voi a trovarmi un solo titolo western (ce ne sono, lo so, ma voglio vedervi all'opera) dove la SAA non compaia. (rinnovo del giochino di prima) E stavolta vi voglio lasciare con una citazione che la descrive a pieno: "La miglior pistola mai creata. Sei proiettili: più che sufficienti per uccidere qualunque cosa si muova". (terzo giochino con scelta della prossima in palio: chi ha detto questa frase?) Anyway, the fact that I don't "want" doesn't mean that there are no words to spend, so here they are: as you can notice, differently from all (except one: the first who guess it chooses the next gun I draw) the guns seen before, this one has a closed frame, a more solid structure that allowed to use more powerful charges. Also, it was realised with barrels of different lenght: this one is the average "artillery" model: longer is called "cavalry", shorter "quickdraw". Worth mentioning is the model "buntline", said to belong to the famous marshal Wyatt Earp and almost a meter long. Seriously, I don't even need to tell you where it appears, this time you try tell me just one western work (they exist, I know, but I want to see you work) where the SAA doesn't appear. (renewal of the game mentioned before) And this time I want to leave you with a quote that describes it fully: "The greatest handgun ever made. Six bullets: more than enough to kill anything that moves" (third little game with coice of the next gun as a prize: who said this quote?)

"Sorella" della Navy, la Army si differenzia per il calibro maggiore, infatti si ritorna al .44. Le meccaniche ormai le conoscete, perciò aggiungerò solo che questa era la pistola usata dall'Unione durante la Guerra di Secessione (le giacche blu, per intenderci), o almeno la più diffusa. Questa io la preferisco alle Navy per il telaio, più tondeggiante e a mio avviso elegante. Dove potete averla vista? Bè, in un paio di occasioni: oltre a non poche comparsate nei film, una delle quali come compagna delle Walker di Josey Wales (tornate all'immagine dedicata se non ricordate), è l'arma usata da Will Smith in "Wild Wild West" (guarda caso, reduce della guerra come dicevo); inoltre chi conosce "Red Dead Revolver", predecessore del sicuramente più conosciuto "Redemption", potrà riconoscervi la "Scorpion", pistola premio finale e praticamente motore dell'intero gioco. "Sister" of the Navy, the Army is different in the bigger caliber, in fact it returns with the .44. Now you know the mechanics, so I'll add only that this was the gun used by the Union during the Civil War (the blue coats, to better understand), or at least the most seen. I like this more than the Navy because of the rounder frame, which I find more elegant. Where can you have seen it? Well, in a couple of occasions: besides not few cameos in movies, one of those as companion of Josey Wales' Walkers (come back to the dedicated image if you don't remember), is the pistol used by Will SMith in "Wild Wild West" (in fact, a war veteran like I told you); besides who knows "Red Dead Revolver", precursor of the surely better known "Redemption", can recognise in this the "Scorpion", pistol final prize and practically engine of the entire game.
