I had so much fun this month working with Riv and @bees-in-a-bucket on this project. Hats off the the amazing writer and beta of this trio!

My story takes place in a land where magic is illegal, where Rayna Greenbarrow, the daughter of a prominent religious and political figure, is hiding her ability to see ghosts. Until! She discovers that one of her ghostly friends is *not* dead, but is actually the living spirit of someone under an enchantment, holding the memory of a terrible secret that could bring down the monarchy. And so Rayna and her ragtag group of misfit friends must risk everything to steal a magic talisman and bring together a ritual to break the enchantment if her friend is to be saved -- and the truth finally revealed.

It's a gunpowder fantasy with all the weird aesthetic/tropey things I love the most. Ghosts and magic! A MacGuffin! Cults and brainwashing! Near-death experiences! Kissing! Political scheming! Thinly-veiled allusions to religious and spiritual trauma! Disguises! A big fancy masquerade ball!
