ANYWAYS @doodledream GUESS WHO WENT FERAL AND WROTE A FIC
GD pounded on River's door, startling and awakening her from her half-sleep.
River had been up pretty late practicing, as she does, and she had started to doze off on the couch. Of course, some John S. (Shithead) Doe pounding on her front door at 3AM was enough to have her drowsily trudge to the door, and open it.
"Wanna do a bad decision?" GD said, wide awake, and beaming right at River "I gots a bad decision and we should both do it."
"... What? What are you doing here, GD?" River said, her brain hurriedly trying to get it's shit together.
"I'm compelling you to do a bad decision. You up for it Angel? Or did you drink some weak sauce this morning? You like weak sauce on your salad now?"
River chuckled, and nodded "Let me like, get some shoes on, and we'll go do that bad decision, ok?"
River turned around and started looking for her shoes. As she puts them on, she asks, "So… What exactly is this bad decision we're doing?"
"hmmmmmmm, well, I figured we could go stop by the 6/11 and grab some Snacks, walk around the city, say hi to some friends, explore some fucking crazy ass ruins i found in the woods, go pet a dog." She listed off nonchalantly, "Y'know, normal shenanigans."
River stood up and began to walk out of the house with GD "Yeah those ruins sound cool and all, but petting that dog, that sounds like a night to remember"
"I promise we're probably maybe almost there," GD said, shining her flashlight on the forest floor, "I'm totally almost kind of sure."
River laughed "You sound suuuper confident right now. Totally sure of yourself"
A long silence passed between them.
"So…" River started, startling GD just a little bit "Why are you bringing me out here? Not saying I don't want to go but…" She trailed off. It wasn't an untrue sentiment. She is excited to see these sweet ruins! And probably stop by the 6/11 on the way home. But she also was about to have a sick 3 hours tops of sleep.
"Well, I just figured you enjoy it. Plus, you're pretty much my only friend awake this late." GD remarked, squinting at the darkness
Friends. Right. So that's what we are? Said a cynical voice in the back of River's head. As much as she wanted to scold herself for thinking that way… It's a fair point. Things have always been pretty confusing between her and GD, to say the least. It's never clear what they are. But, usually she likes to think more optimistically about their relationship, whatever it may be.
Suddenly GD had stopped, and was looking at River, with an expression wielding a searingly painful combination of sadness and confusion.
"You… Are enjoying this right?" She tried to force a smile, "I hope I'm not dragging you along on something you think is boring, or something."
"No!! No I'm actually really excited to see these ruins and stuff! I was just wondering, really!" River said, reassuringly.
"Well, if that's the case…" GD shone her flashlight to her right, exposing a rotten door on a viney concrete wall, "Then let's head on in!"
"I have. No goddamn idea what this place is." GD said, kicking some rubble on the ground "But it is most definitely not entirely safe to be Inside Of"
"Yeah, agreed…" River added, shining her phone flashlight on her surroundings.
"... Oh my GOD" GD exclaimed, and ran off into the darkness, River panickedly following after her
"What is it? Where are you???" River questioned, looking around for GD.
As she swung her phone flashlight around, she found GD. She was behind a counter, with a big sign over it that said "GET UR SKATES!!!!1! :-)"
"...It's a roller rink." River said, in awe.
"An abandoned roller rink babeY!" GD said, flapping her hands.
They looked each other in the eyes, and said simultaneously,
"Who needs sleep anyways?"
