#rites of initiation

-Wake up Silver.

 He heard the voice of his mentor. Still tired from previous days training he opened his eyes to see that the sun still hasn't risen. Silver yawned loudly and took out his blankets to be welcomed by the wintry cold of the night. 

 The barracks where silent and the rest of the children where still sleeping, the only light on the entire room was the candle his mentor had on his right hand and was merely enough to light a small circle around his bed.

 -Take your coat, its even colder outside. 

Silver, still confused by the sudden interruption of his slumber stood up quietly.

 The moment his foot made contact with the cold ground he shuddered as the chill traveled from his toes to his spine... It was maybe the coldest night he could remember.

-Quick, they are waiting for you.

He trusted his mentor, Dalen was the only one who ever treated him respectfully and cared for him besides his parents.

 Without a doubt Silver followed him through the narrow path between the opposing beds on the long stretch room, silently and surrounded by darkness.
