Italian Rice Ball Sushi combines the flavors of traditional Italian arancini with a sushi twist. These crispy rice balls are filled with savory prosciutto, gooey mozzarella cheese, and aromatic herbs, making them a delightful fusion dish.
Ingredients: 2 cups cooked sushi rice. 4 slices prosciutto, diced. 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese. 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley. 4 ounces mozzarella cheese, cut into small cubes. 1/4 cup breadcrumbs. 1 egg, beaten. 1/4 cup all-purpose flour. Salt and pepper to taste. Vegetable oil for frying.
Instructions: Put cooked sushi rice, diced prosciutto, grated Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, and cubes of mozzarella cheese in a large bowl. Combine well. If you want, you can add salt and pepper to taste. Make balls out of small amounts of the mixture that are about the size of golf balls. Beat the egg and put it in one bowl. Put the flour and breadcrumbs in another bowl. First, cover each rice ball with flour. Then, dip it in the beaten egg. Finally, cover it all over with breadcrumbs. Put vegetable oil in a deep pan and heat it over medium-low heat. To get golden brown and crispy rice balls, fry them in small groups for about three to four minutes at a time. Take the rice balls out of the oil and put them on a plate with paper towels on it to soak up the extra oil. Enjoy while hot!
