A heavy sigh rolled from his lips. ‘Great. This is what I get for wandering around without a map. Especially in this Sector. Doesn’t help the buildings are always moving around.’ He thought to himself quietly.
He’d gone down an elevator in hopes that it might lead him to a subway or something that could get him out of this damn sector. But it seemed it only served in taking him to a branched area, one of the Districts. He vaguely remembered living in one during his first stay here. It definitely wasn’t a creepy place like this though. As he emerged from the giant glowing tube that was the elevator, he came face to face with a malformed creature of some kind, eyes widening with surprise and gloved hand coming forth to give them a shove.
Distance. He cherished it whenever he could.
Unfortunately for him, the act of aggression came at the cost of pissing off every other mutant in this place that had seemed to be worshiping the tube. Just what kind of circus was this?
“Oh, hell...” He grumbled, tugging the wooden sword at his side free and making a run for it. In hindsight, he probably should have just gone back into the elevator rather than run deeper into the sewer-like labyrinth of District Alpha’s inner workings.
“It’d be a good idea to run!” He called out to the girl, unfortunate as she was, who was in the path ahead. There were only about 5 of the mutants charging after him, screeching angrily and clawing at the air. He probably could have taken them but, really, he’d been the one at fault and they weren’t going to listen to reason. He figured he could outrun them long enough that they’d lose interest in him...but with new game in sight...who knew?
