So, as you seem to have liked the Rissabae content, I wanted to know if you watched Hyunjin's participation in her channel? If so, did you enjoyed it?

I watched it when I was new to skz and still getting to know the members, and I got so charmed by his slightly awkward countenance paired with that perfect face! It was just some time later that I learned what a tease that man is 😮‍💨

Risabae is basically the reason I am into Kpop. I saw Felix getting his make up done by her, and her reactions to him as well as you know, Felix just being Felix, is what got me to look up what was happening in Kpop. My hairdresser, by the way, has no interest in what Stray Kids is or sounds like, but she knows who Felix is because of Risabae. All Hail Risabae.

I knew about this Hyunjin content but hadn't made time for it, so thank you for the prompt! (This is coming at the right time, since Hyunjin is very much in my bias line for SKZ).

I mean. His faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaace.

Hyunjin inspires really different feelings in me than my other biases, and I don't know if it's because his beauty is otherworldly, or if because he already is just a peeled soft-boiled egg, wobbly and watery, or because he has this like, soft, mild innocence that JYP seems to cultivate in his generation (the girls of Itzy have this exact quality as well), and it makes me want to like, guard them with my life, even though every single one of them is much taller and fitter than me. Well played, JYP.

Hyunjin says that this is his very first time doing a broadcast on his own.

But how can you resist???

His comic timing is adorable. Risabae says that he's come looking as innocent as possible, and he makes this face, to make sure that he is suiting action to the word.

And I love Risabae for things like this:

She tells him she knows random details like what he ate last, and when she says she's a Stay he giggles, and when it turns out she is subscribed to his Bubble thingy, he does this:

The shyness!!! I want to be a marsupial so I can shove him in my pouch and keep him safe.

Can we by the way discuss THE POWER THAT RISABAE HAS over these boys?? She did what she did to Mr Confident Motormouth (Wooyoung of Ateez) where he was stuttering, crying, whining, begging, and complaining in a pouty way about how others make fun of him for his lower lip being too big boo hoo. Now THE Hyunjin, the one who is like Stray Kids Can't Be Sexy Because We're Kids but Me, I , Myself, Hyunjin? I Can Be So Sexy I'll Set Your Panties on Fire As Much As I Want (not an exact quote) - She makes one second of direct eye contact with him and he's completely broken:

Oh Christ in Heaven he is so cute. So this is how he tried to cope with his terror of having pencils or brushes near his waterline:

Hyunjin tells the story of his buzzcut, that when he sought permission to cut his hair from his long Prince Lancelot do to this military buzzcut, they asked him if he was all right. That sounds kind of sweet, actually.

I wonder if Hyunjin is a reader or if he's just poetic.

The translation... is ... wrong... again. But probably intentionally. Because what he actually says can't fit into a subtitle for a makeup youtube video. He says 그 속세에서 벗어나는 느낌이었어요. It felt akin to the act of leaving secular, mundane existence. Basically, when someone decides to forgo all the concerns and desires of the secular world to pursue only spiritual enlightenment by becoming a Buddhist monk, they shave their heads. They call the world of, you know, money, sex, eating for pleasure (meat and alcohol consumption), 속세. That is just such an interesting reference for this kid who grew up inside the kpop Idol system to say, you know?

I MEAN.

Was she Joan of Arc in her previous life?? How is it this is HER JOB where she has THESE boys looking up at her like this AND GET PAID FOR IT? OMG.

OK I'm going to try to get a grip. What was I talking about?

OH right.

So Hyunjin is SUCH A CHARMER, more than Wooyoung (Sorry Wooyoung) because he actually asks her a direct question about herself, and her beauty care, in a way that is just so gentle and sweetly interested. While making the Looking at Risabae Eyes. He then says he got the buzzcut because he wanted this kind of pink hair that she currently has, and as we hear his handlers panic rumble in the background, he stutters his request:

At the fan-meet- fan meeting! I'm gonna do pink hair!!!

And Risabae is looking with empathetic concern at the off-screen staffer who is probably thumb typing a brief that's like HYUNJINSSI WANTS TO DO PINK HAIR - I REPEAT PINK HAIR HYUNJIN JUST ANNOUNCED BY MAIN ON RISABAE.

The thing is - OK I thought this post was going to be about Hyunjin but this is more about Risabae becuase look at Hyunjin, clearly miserable and scared when the brush comes for his waterline, being SO BRAVE because he wants to be a good boy for Risabae.

Seriously. Look how stupid excited Hyunjin gets when she praises him for enduring the make up ordeal (?) so well.

We move on to part two, where Hyunjin has brought fanart of.. himself (LOL) for what he thinks is a "Venomous" look.

I'm just sitting here staring at him talking. Hyunijn really has the face of the century. Jesus. He's so soothing to look at. The visual equivalent of an air purifier. Like, there isn't a strong SCENT necessarily, but I am just breathing easier. I feel more alive.

And here is Risabae having the same marsupial, GET IN MY POCKET, feelings as me. Look at the adoring arches formed by her pretty eyes.

And then, when we get to the actual pencil-on-waterline part, he starts literally purring.

When she says she'll try to be fast, to get him that intimidating aura she mentioned, he says, No No, do it slowly, because he's the fifth in line (to do the recording or whatever) but the real reason is, just like the other boys, he just wants her to keep paying attention to him and gently touching his face with her fingers and sponges and brushes.

He's making this grrr sound but it's really because he wants to cry.

Look at his eyes. He's so so so close to tears. I am enthralled.

.... OH and this content lets me understand why I am so tender to Hyunjin whereas I am not to my other biases. Hyunjin is just made of water. He gets soaked with sweat from just standing and breathing, but he also is ready to burst into tears at a moment's notice, and actually does. He's generous with the crying, so I can be unreserved in my adoration. Ah.
