Usual i like to just scroll on tumblr and post things here and there but currently in the country where Im living in (Indonesia ) I have to speak about it...

The info below will (probably) sensitive topic and will go deep dive into it since our voices to talk about it will probably be shut down soon in Meta and Tiktok (because its 'proactive stuff')

It all started from from our DPR or Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat, which translates to the House of Representatives. Which is the core reason on why our protest started.

The duties of the DPR (People's Representative Council) center on three main functions: legislation (drafting and enacting laws), budgeting (discussing and approving the state budget), and oversight (monitoring the implementation of laws and government policies). In addition, the DPR is also tasked with gathering public aspirations, approving acts of war, advising the President on amnesty/abolition, and electing members of bodies such as the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) and constitutional judges.

Problems is that they are curruptor that uses our taxes (that they told US that they will USE for school, fixed road, etc) for their luxuries like Channel, dior, drugs, etc despite all of these things that is so obvious. They proposed new housing allowance for parliament members. The proposed monthly allowance of 50 million rupiah (US$3,057) was ten times the capital's minimum wage (already one of the highest nationwide).BY THE WAY THE HIGHEST MINIMUM WAGES IS 2 JUTA RUPIAH (which is $121,29). Also I wanna mention a rice allowance for members of the DPR in their official capacities, alongside other allowances. While the citizens are starving in the street!

Let me add a list of what going on from the start of the year January till August :

January : curruption over RP. 1 Quadrillion ± (USD 60. 000. 000.000 +

February : #Indonesiagelap#RUUTNI (#Indonesiagelap referring to a hashtag that went viral on Indonesian social media in early 2025 to voice public concerns about various social and economic problems facing the country, such as the scarcity of 3 kg LPG gas, budget efficiency leading to layoffs, and the elimination of performance allowances, which are depicted by the Garuda symbol on a black background. RUUTNI is another one that is too long for me but Google is available).

March : pig's head for Jurnalist (i remember pig head is a symbol of the beast, which represents evil).

April : Tom Lembong's innocent (he was accused of importing raw crystal sugar) but his image was already destroyed.

May : Peak unemployment rate which skyrocketed to 7+ milion while having to deal with tax, family, house and debt... They are treating us like we are a develop country even though we are a developing country. The tax have risen up to 12% recently

June : #SaverajaAmpat. Reasoning because its one of the most beautiful places in Indonesia and have to keep it that way but the government want to turn it into and oil which mean destroying habitats of natives animals that can only be found there.

July : I could say that this is one of the worst of them all... Trump full access to Indonesia & 31 mil Bank account blocked.

Agustus : Rat government & a 21 year old live who's name is Affan Kurniawan, 21, was run over by a police vehicle in Jakarta during earlier protests about low wages and politicians expenses that are still ongoing. He wasn't even in the protest!! He was just delivering food FYI:-He works to study (in college)-He works to support his family because he's the breadwinner-His mother is waiting for him at home-He was hit TWICE-HE STILL SO YOUNG, AND STILL HAVE A LOT TO DO AND DREAMS!FLY HIGH AFFAN KURNIAWAN 🕊️🥀.

That what is going on in Indonesia..

The level of audacity they have to dance inside the Parliament after approving 30k monthly salary increase, while the people who you swore to protect is struggling to give their kids and themself a plate of rice. Children are forced to survive from day one, the old are working till their body are nearly buried, teacher are labelled as "beban negara" or "State burden". For the DPR :

Shame on you, Indonesia's Parliament. Curruption wrapped in laughter, laughing at the same people you swore to protect. Do you even remember how did you get your freedom? The Heroes of the country that want to give the people freedom, humanity, and equality. While to take those away from your poor brother and sister. I want to talk more but the protest already speak for itself.

I won't join the protest because I'm afraid that the incident that happen during 1998 happens again. Im Chindo (chinese Indonesia) what happen is incidents of mass violence and civil unrest in Indonesia, many of which targeted the country's ethnic Chinese population.Indonesia, race riots break out and shops that are owned by Indonesians of Chinese descent are looted, and women are raped. Around 1000 people are killed by the riots. While President Prabowo is allegedly is involved in these riots

The DPR is trying to escape the country and they are probably going to Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and etc. There is around 580 DPR member I remember.

To anyone reading this I hope you understand where our anger is. There is Police officer that is stuck in between but the one who crush Affan they told to just crush him "tabrak aja" while he did nothing at all... Tommorrow in Indonesia timeline they Will start shoot civilian at Monday. And some more information in tiktok by cpm

Indonesia is in chaos—there has been an order for mass shootings against civilians by military and police forces. Live TikTok streams are being taken down, civilians are being beaten, TV journalists are silenced, and even medical teams in proper uniforms are assaulted by the police, despite not being involved.Please, I beg you to share this so the world can see how corrupt the Indonesian government system has become. I truly hope the United Nations can intervene and help with this situation.

but they are starting tell people to ATTACK Chindo. WE ARE ALSO UPSET ABOUT THE GOVERNMENT AND PLEASE DON'T LOSE THE CORE REASON WHY WE ARE ATTACKING THEM!! Let's just not make history repeat itself again okay?? I don't want it to happen to anyone I care about and to anyone who have experienced it or to anyone in general. it can and have happen before. It's a very important part of our history that we shouldn't repeat. Harming the innocent even though that not the point of the protest. The member of the DPR is trying to run away. We have to remember why we are going after them.

For those who want to be safe and not join the riot

Stay updated

Avoid relying only on WhatsApp forwardsVerify rumors → If you hear "penembakan di sini" (shooting here), check if it's confirmed before panicking or sharing it.

Know your surroundings → Be aware of safe exits when you're in crowded places like malls, stations, or events

At Home

Lock doors & windows properly.

Do not trust official news, or even the governments

Put your trust in Damkar, do not call the police

Always prepare to record anything. Voice record. Try to call ur peers if anything starts to get dangerous. Let them hear what's around you

Have a small emergency kit (flashlight, charger, first aid, water).

Outside / Public Places

Avoid protest areas or riots. Even if you're curious, these situations can turn dangerous fast.

Stick to well-lit, busy areas when walking at night.Travel in groups if possible. Safer than being alone.

Trust your instincts → If a place feels unsafe, leave quickly.

Transportation

For ojol (online motorcycle taxis) → Always check plate number & driver's name in the app.

Sit near exits when on buses/trains if you want quicker escape routes.

Tell someone your location when going to unfamiliar places.

Online Awareness

Don't spread hoaxes. Sharing unverified "penembakan" news can cause panic.

Report suspicious accounts or news to platform admins.

Mental Safety

don't panic easily.

If you hear gunshots, explosions, or riots:

1. Find cover (behind walls, not glass).2. Stay low and quiet.3. Exit only when safe.
