This was supposed to be a simple comparison, but it kinda turned into a Rippletale thingy <XD
But anyways! I noticed some people from my Reverse Reapertale picture tagged Chara as Frisk, so I thought I’d show the differences between the two! (Pretty much the hair!) Chara’s hair is much sharper and is shorter towards the back, while Frisk has straight-cut bangs and a messy bob-like hairstyle. Also, I never draw Frisk with the circle blush.
Couple of my favorite Chara expressions/pictures from my first sketches of Rippletale Chara's origin story. Felt like sharing them, since they likely won't look the same once I get to the origin story later on.
I am starting my comic soon (the cover I’ve been working on is about halfway done) and I wanted to make a couple of statements beforehand.
The first is a disclaimer of sorts! There are TONS of Undertale AUs and branching stories, that I’m sure my comic will have similar ideas or visuals throughout. I wanted to take this time to mention I have only followed ONE au, and that is Reapertale (obviously). I know the existence of some popular ones due to fanart popping up here and there, but I know nothing of the story behind them. Nothing in my story is taken from others, and I have done my best not to be tainted! There are millions of Undertale fans and thousands of aus/stories, so I’m worried some may think I took from this au or that one, but rest assured! My mind is clean, and this story is purely from my imagination (using Undertale canon and headcanons)
The second thing is the announcement of a name! After months of struggling what to call this, I decided on a pretty simple title! Rippletale. If this title already existed, sorry! But it fits my concept well, so it’s what I’m using!
That’s all for my announcement. Stay tuned for the cover for Rippletale, which should be up today! (Though it may be late)

Ripple and everything related to him and his new family have been filling my thoughts and making me super crazy happy and I just wanna make an ask/rp blog for the cutie. It’ll give me an excuse to draw him and the rest of the skelefamily more.
It’ll probably be a day or two before I actually get the blog up and running, but it’s gonna happen.
As for this… yes, that is me (or at least my non-undertale skeleton OC Tula who represents me) and this is basically just a cleaner sketch layer than anything. And never ask me to actually write something because my handwriting is terrible.
I finally got this nice little reference page up for my new AU Sans. Similar to other characters such as Ink!Sans and Undercoat!Sans, Ripple is what some call an out!code character, meaning he doesn’t belong to any timeline.
Since I designed and developed him beginning from Monday (Feb. 29th), he’s still got plenty of room for character and story development. Some of this will occur at the TimeParty hosted by @timeparty, which I plan to attend as Ripple.
I’ve also written an actual backstory leading up to the TimeParty from Ripple’s point of view, and it’s included under the cut.
When I first woke up, I couldn't see anything. There wasn't any sound either, just silence. I was alone in a place I didn't know, but it was the only place I had ever known.
That was when the first flower appeared. It covered me in its blue glow, though everything around me stayed dark and scary. I walked closer towards it's comforting light, and I could see that it was crystal clear. Just as I was about to hold the flower in my hands, the surface of it shook slightly, and I could see images. Not my own reflection, but someone else's from inside.
Within the flower, I watched a human fall into the Underground. I could hear the kind, old monster who took them in. The two skeleton brothers of Snowdin, the fish captain of the royal guard, the nerdy lizard royal scientist; I watched as the human met, befriended, and saved them all.
Time doesn't really pass in the void, but I knew it passed by watching the flower and the images inside it.
One day, another flower appeared. The light that came from it was a bright red, and the monsters inside were different too. Darker, meaner looking clothing, and meaner personalities too. They were the same as the ones from the first flower but different, and that interested me.
Soon, new flowers began to appear so quickly that I couldn't see who was inside before another one appeared. Worlds where the monsters lived in space, where personalities were swapped, and even a few where they were humans.
That's when I began to experiment with my own magic. I was scared to touch the flowers and the worlds inside them, but I found out that I could move them without touching. I could make them disappear and reappear as I wanted. There were hundreds of flowers floating through the void, and this was useful magic.
A few weeks later, going by time passing in the flowers, one of them began to react strangely. The surface rippled harder than I had seen any of them. Just as I was about to hold it closer to see what was happening, the the flower began to wilt, before dissolving into tiny droplets of magic and code, disappearing from the void. I tried to call it back, but it was like I couldn't find it anymore. Like it stopped existing.
This scared me even more than waking up alone in the dark. If they were disappearing, I'd be alone again when they all were gone.
When one flower disappeared, I saw that a few more always took its place. Something was getting rid of them, while something else was making them. I lived in the void for months, but I never saw anyone outside of the flowers.
I... I wanted to know what it was like to have an adventure for myself. I didn't want to just sit and watch as others lives their lives. Someone was killing worlds while someone else gave them life. I wanted to meet whoever they were. I was tired of being alone. I needed to practice my magic again, and find a way out of the void. Surely if I could make the flowers go somewhere else, I could do that to myself too?
The entire process was trial and error, with nothing but error so far. I was running out of ideas, and this was my last one for now. I made some of the same magic as the flowers appear, but in the shape of a large circle. It was basically supposed to be a doorway to wherever I would go. If it worked, I knew how to get back.
I stared at the magic portal, making images of one of the worlds appear inside. This would be my only chance to try it. I pushed my way through the magic, and I was no longer in the void.I was finally in a world. A place where there was actually stuff instead of darkness and glowing flowers. There were other monsters here. I wasn't alone. Finally... *sniff* I wasn't alone. I... I didn't need to be scared anymore. I can finally live a life of my own.
(I apologize for my poor writing and vocabulary usage. I’m just bad at descriptive writing and I was trying to adjust the language so that it seemed like it came from a 10-year-old. I also wrote this backstory past midnight as well so I was a bit tired. *shrug*)
