May is mental health awareness month.. Ironically and sadly the world has lost another beautiful soul due to the disease of mental illness. 🤍Naomi Judd🤍. I grew up listening and loving The Judds and wondered how life must have been for the seemingly "perfect" mother/daughter duo. Mental health illnesses doesn't have a "look" for many. I learned as I grew up...losing friends and acquaintances along the way. I've never been one to "judge a book by its cover" because of this. The world has lost so many people that hid their illnesses so well due to fear of being judged or stigmatized. It's so sad and wrong. Mental health illness is not taboo, as I'm sure most people have encountered this within their own family unit(s). I have. If you know anyone that is struggling with mental health... please try to guide them to seek professional assistance, and assure them that there is no shame in it. And for those needing assistance... there is NO SHAME is asking for help.
