Learning of the passing of the great Mitzi Shore today had me thinking of all the #podcasts I've listened to of Comedy Store regulars and all their stories about the club but mostly about her. How she made the club hers and fuck everyone. How she put some of the greats under such turmoil and duress but made them who they are. This tiny, fierce guardian of the LA comedy gates.. I've only been to the club three times, way after Mitzi's time there, and the energy and vibe there always felt like magic was being spun into tales and one liners, thrown at the throngs of hungry crowds wanting more. Passing from room to room, seeing Maron in the Main Room, Santino in the Original Room, and Redband in the Belly Room in seconds. All the new up comers standing on the back porch waiting their shot. Everything that makes a killer club the best. Thank you Mitzi and all that you gave us.
