A couple of days late, I have tons of overtime in preparation for holiday shopping to blame for that, but tonight I acknowledge the awful night of December 8, 1980.

Anyone that has followed my account long enough knows that The Beatles are my all time favorite band and the Mecca of my musical existence, so December 8th is always a sad day for me.

John Lennon was an incredible song writer, advocate for peace and equality, and one of my personal heroes. And now…all I can do is take solace in the fact that when he was senselessly murdered by an obsessed nut job in front of his wife and home, he was most likely the happiest he’d ever been in his iconic life.

So even though I try to keep this account relatively PG….fuck you, Mark David Chapman.

And more importantly, and more positively….THANK YOU John Lennon!

Pictured (in often cases, rather poorly) are my handsome face, my at least a decade old John Lennon “Give Peace A Chance” t-shirt, a barely visible OG pressing of “Imagine”, complete with a flawless original poster that I intend to have framed some day purchased from @sleepypoet, a Japanese pressing I scored from my boy @noblerecords a little ways back, an Original Master Recording that I scored from @wildhoneyrecords on an awesome day in which I hit every record store in Knoxville, TN, a still sealed Lennon figurine that was a gift from my best friend, and a hanging “All You Need is Love” metal sign from an ever so random privately owned store in Maggie Valley, NC that I only stopped in because it was a Sunday in the “Bible Belt” and everything else was closed.

So John…thanks for the music, thanks for using your voice to speak for those that needed it. I’ll forever love you and your music. ALL WE ARE SAYYYYYYING IS GIVE PEACE A CHANCE ✌🏻
