❛  hm  ?  ❜ attention seized  ,  eyes mimicking an endless sky flicker to his ally, naivety in action . up - dog  ?  was that some kind of ikebukurian brand . . .  ?  perhaps slang  ?  whatever it was, it left the teen blinking, the grip upon bag handle fluctuating in uncertainty . 

There were times when Beck missed the days that she had a schedule to follow, a routine to practice. She barely got out and moved these days, not because she was depressed or anything (god forbid), but life without ballet (or oxys, for that matter) was the worst kind of monotonous and boring there was. It was probably in her best interest to find a job to fill her endless weeks, but what was the point? She’d be supported by her siblings anyways, who felt the guilt of leaving her behind more than they should’ve. At the end of the day, it worked in her favor, as her bank account was never empty, and the lease to her studio was under her sister’s name, but still. Still there was a deep void, one that needed filling. 

But if there was one thing great about California? — The nightlife, and all of the mind-altering, insane partying that came with it. Perfect for void-filling, really. Newport was no exception, and Beck had partaken generously in the drinking. It took about six (or was it seven?) shots before Beck was jumping up and down to the music, syncing her movements to the resounding beat of the bass. And Jolie was the perfect companion for her partying, and drinking, and forgetting, because at the end of the day, this was easier than actually dealing with her problems.
