I have a friend that likes things that are bad for them (things like color breaking green fliers and horrible tasting yellow fruits), but I'm not sure the best way to break the news to them that they've been lead astray. Do you have any advice?
Dear markrosewater,
Thanks for the question! We’ve heard questions like this bunches of times. Dealing with a self-destructive friend can be incredibly difficult to do, and must be handled with the utmost delicacy. Learning that they are doing something that isn’t in their best interests can really sting. The last thing you want to do is slip up and say something that could cause them to peel away. It would be a royal mistake. My recommendation is to hold an intervention. Invite them and at least four other token friends. Sit them down and help them to understand that what they’re doing is potentially deadly to themselves and others. If they haven’t gone completely bananas, they should come around.
Hopefully this helps! xoxoxo
