First is Narinder never telling Ewen that he saw them and saw himself in them and approved. That was the turning point for Ewen going from "I'll kill for you so I can finally die" to "i am never dying because I want to spend as much time with you as physically possible, no matter what I have to do." So Ewen would be more than happy to hand over the crown at the end. However, years later, Narinder brings them back to life, just as pissed off as when they first died. But they tell them they have need of them because they did such a good job manipulating the cult. This is where he gives those same lines that made Ewen fall for him in the first place, and it has the same effect, falling hard into obsession. So when Narinder gives them the option of living again as his disciple, they take it immediately. They're mortal now, but still a manipulative and sneaky little bitch. So they've taken to gaslighting and even killing other followers that might get in between them and always being just behind the god. Very yandere hehe. Like i figured Baal would still have a crush on them and I could see Ewen manipulating that to the point of marriage just if it meant they would get more attention from Narinder.
